Answer: John Locke

John Locke was featured in the flashbacks for this episode and it was in the first one that he was employed at a store. A little boy came up to him to ask about the game that Locke was playing. Locke told the boy about this game, which he said he played with his brother, and then revealed the game's name as Mouse Trap.

After the first flashback ended, we went to the island and Locke and Boone were still trying to open up the hatch that they had found several episodes earlier. Boone started to become pessimistic about their chances of opening up the hatch but Locke told him to have faith. Locke said all they had to do was break the glass and then they could get inside.

Kurtz, born on September 6th, 1944 in Omaha, Nebraska guest starred int his episode as Emily Locke. Emily watched John Locke at the store where he worked and John noticed she was watching him. He took her out to have something to eat and she claimed to be his biological mother. Kurtz played Emily Locke in just this episode for the series.

She has also guest starred on the TV shows, "The Outer Limits", "Touched By an Angel", and "ER."

Sun was first seen planting her garden and Sawyer asked her which leave he was supposed to use of the two that he had so she pointed to the right leaf. Sawyer asked her if she was sure since he said that was the one he had been using for something but nothing had happened. Sun simply apologized to him for the leaf's not helping.

Kate saw Sawyer and Sun talking so she asked Sawyer what was up and he said nothing so then he walked off. Kate asked Sun what the deal was and Sun told her that he was having headaches. Kate asked her if he had any aspirin stashed somewhere but Sun told her that he claimed the aspirin did not help.

Kate decided to talk to Jack about Sawyer's headaches so, when she did, she saw he was shaving. She asked Jack about what would happen if someone had a headache every day so he asked her if she was alright. Kate said she was fine so he asked her who she was referring to so Kate told him it was Sawyer. Kate told him she thought something was wrong with Sawyer so Jack asked her what Sawyer thought so Kate said Sawyer thought he was fine.

About ten minutes into the episode, Boone was sleeping on the beach and Locke came to wake him up so Boone asked him what time it was. Locke simply said it was morning so Boone awoke and went with Locke. Boone asked Locke what was up but Locke just told him to come with him so Boone obliged.

Midway through the episode, Sawyer was lying down on the beach and a couple other survivors were making a lot of noise so he told them to be quiet. Kate came by and told Sawyer to get up since he was going to see Jack so he could inspect him. Jack asked Sawyer when the headaches started and Sawyer said they began a few days ago or perhaps a week. Jack asked him if he got them when he woke up but Sawyer said they came at midday.

Midway through the episode, Jack went to go see Sawyer, who was reading, and Sawyer told him that, if he was looking to get a stool sample from him, he could forget it. Jack observed how Sawyer had been reading a lot since he got to the island. Jack told Sawyer that he had hyperopia, which he said meant farsightedness.
