Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who was the first character we saw in this episode?

Answer: Sayid Jarrah

The episode opened up with Sayid sitting by the beach, having a somber look on his face. He looked at a picture of a woman and on the back of a picture was some handwriting. Sayid kept looking around and noticed a piece of rope sticking out of the sand. He pulled the rope up and noticed that it went all the way into the jungle.
2. At the beginning of the episode, whose bandages did Jack change?

Answer: James "Sawyer" Ford

In Jack's first scene, he was with Sawyer down by the beach and he ripped off a bandage that was on Sawyer's arm so he could replace it with a new one. Sawyer called him a not so nice name but Jack told him to just hang in there since he had to change the rest of the bandages. Sawyer told Jack to not rip his skin off with the bandages.
3. Near the beginning of the episode, Jack asked who if he/she was looking for someone or just admiring the ocean view?

Answer: Kate Austen

After Jack got done tending to Sawyer, he saw Kate out by the beach so he went to go chat with her. He first asked her if she was looking for someone or admiring the ocean's view. Kate reminded him how it had been two days since Sayid went off on his own and she felt that she would eventually see him. Jack told Kate that Sayid would be back when he found what he was looking for, which was the French transmission.
4. Who wound up hanging upside down by a tree?

Answer: Sayid Jarrah

Sayid kept following the rope into the jungle and noticed how it got near a wire. Sayid realized that, if he tripped over the wire, he would be in a trap. He stepped over the wire but still managed to get himself caught in a trap since a rope grabbed his foot and swung him upside down by a tree.
5. During the opening credits, Jack asked who what was going on out by the beach area?

Answer: Hugo "Hurley" Reyes

As the opening credits rolled, Jack tended to another person on the island and he heard some commotion going on out by the beach area. Hurley came by and he asked Hurley what the deal was but all Hurley told him was it was the usual deal with people yelling at one another over nothing. Jack got back to tending to the person and he told the person he had hives.
6. Danielle Rousseau took Sayid back to her cabin.

Answer: True

Rousseau was the one who set the trap that Sayid wound up in and she knocked him out and took him back to her cabin. She tied him to a bed and asked him where Alex was right as he began to open up his eyes. Sayid told her he had no idea what she was talking about but this upset Rousseau so she gave him an electrical buzzing, which put Sayid in immense pain.
7. Who told Hurley that Ethan had experience with hunting?

Answer: John Locke

During the opening credits, Hurley sat by a fire and John came by and dropped some bags down. He introduced Hurley to a man named Ethan and informed him of how Ethan had a lot of experience when it came to hunting. He informed Hurley how Ethan spotted tracks and believed it was a rabbit or another rodent.
8. Walt asked John Locke if he was going back out to hunt.

Answer: True

In Walt's first scene, he was in the jungle and he saw Locke and asked him if he was going back out to hunt. Locke told him he would be hunting for a little bit so Walt asked him if he could also go hunt. Walt said he wanted to learn how to hunt and figured Locke would be the one to instruct him on hunting. Michael then yelled at Walt and told him to get back to bed.
9. Who gave Jack a seven iron golf club and told him it was "his call"?

Answer: Michael Dawson

Midway through the episode, Jack and Michael were seen talking and Michael said there was a problem and how it was "Jack's call." They were referring to a golf ball so Jack asked Michael to get him a seven iron club. As Jack was about to hit the ball, Hurley and Charlie were on the opposite end of the golf field heckling at Jack.
10. Which actress played Danielle Rousseau in this episode?

Answer: Mira Furlan

Furlan, born on September 7th, 1955 in Zagreb, Croatia began playing Danielle Rousseau in this episode. In a later episode, we found out that Danielle had a child, Alex. Furlan portrayed Danielle for a total of 18 episodes on "Lost." She has also starred on the TV shows, "Sheena", "Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service", and "Night Stalker."
