Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Walt met Jesse at a restaurant and told him that his cancer was in remission. What did Walt tell him when Jesse asked him what's next?

Answer: He was done.

Jesse said he was surprised to see Walt because after Walt's comments during their last cook, he expected Walt to be dead. Walt told him that he was in remission with an 80 percent reduction in tumor size. Jesse understood the meaning of this because he'd taken care of his aunt when she had cancer, and he was jubilant, much more so than Walt.

When Jesse asked what happened next, Walt was a bit vague. He said that they would take time to sell off their stock, and then added, "And I guess I'm done".
2. Skyler gave a party to celebrate Walt's cancer remission, and Walt's speech was a bit of a downer. What did he say was his response both when he was diagnosed and when he found out his cancer was in remission?

Answer: "Why me?"

Skyler wanted to have a party for their family and friends to celebrate his cancer remission. Walt didn't look thrilled about it but agreed to have one. At the party, Skyler gave a nice speech, thanking everyone for their support and thanking Gretchen and Elliott (who weren't there) for helping to pay for the treatment. Hank then asked "the man of the hour" to say a few words, and Walt said that when he was first diagnosed, he had asked himself, "why me", and that he had asked himself the same thing after he found out about the remission.

It was an odd thing to say, and he didn't elaborate on it. Hank was standing next to Walt Jr. and sarcastically muttered the comment, "Wow, inspirational".
3. What caused Walt Jr. to get sick in the pool during the party?

Answer: Tequila

Walt, Hank and Walt Jr. were sitting in the backyard, with Walt and Hank doing shots of tequila while Hank was telling his DEA stories to an enthralled Walt Jr. When Hank asked for a refill, Walt filled all of their glasses, pouring out Walt Jr.'s soda and replacing it with tequila. Walt Jr. looked at Hank, who told him not to let his mom see him drink it.

The more Hank talked, the angrier Walt became. When he filled the glasses again, Hank told him that Walt Jr. was only sixteen and asked him if he was going for a "Father of the Year" title. Hank tried to stop him from pouring more tequila in Walt Jr.'s cup, but Walt merely poured the tequila over Hank's hand. Hank took the bottle away from Walt and the two of them got into a loud dispute when Walt ordered him to "bring the bottle back".

It ended when Walt Jr. collapsed on his knees and threw up in the pool. Walt then sat down and downed another shot of tequila with a smirk on his face.
4. Jane was looking through a notebook of super hero drawings that Jesse had made when he was younger. What did Jane notice about the pictures?

Answer: They were all pictures of Jesse.

Jesse had created unusual super heroes. One was called Hoverman who had "a six foot cushion of air under his feet". There was also Kangaman and his sidekick Joey who rode around in his pouch, fighting crime. Jane pointed out that Kangaman had to be a woman since only female kangaroos had pouches, but Jesse claimed he was a male "product of experimentation".

The last one she looked at was Rewindo, who had the ability to move backwards really fast. Jesse was surprised when Jane pointed out that they were all pictures of him.

She asked him what a psychiatrist might think about that.
5. Which appliance did Walt replace in his house by paying $1200 cash for a high-end model?

Answer: Hot water heater

The hot water heater was leaking and was producing discolored water so Walt went to the home improvement store to buy a replacement. After looking at the regular tanks, he asked to see a tankless model. The salesman told him they were pricey, but Walt was willing to pay, and he declined installation - he was going to install it himself.

When Walt Jr. came home, he was happy to see the new water heater: "Finally, hot water. No more toxic waste".
6. Whom did Skyler appear to be hitting on (flirting with) in the days following the events at Walt's party?

Answer: Ted Beneke

Ted came into the break room while Skyler was listening to Walt's voicemail apology for his behavior at the party. She told Ted that Walt had cancer and that they had had a party to celebrate Walt's cancer remission. When Ted stopped by Skyler's office later, she started crying while she was talking to him, telling him nothing had changed since the cancer remission.

He held her hand and after she removed it to get a tissue, she let him hold her hand again. The next time he passed her office, she knocked a container of pens and pencils off her desk to get his attention.
7. Jane rushed out of Jesse's house when she realized her father was at her front door. What upset Jesse when he first met Jane's father?

Answer: Jane pretended that she hardly knew Jesse.

When they heard the knock on the door, Jane asked Jesse if it was his or her door. When she realized it was hers and went to see who was there, she suddenly took off - running out Jesse's back door to get in to the back of her house. Jane opened her front door just as her dad was about to unlock it; he apparently had his own set of keys. Jesse came out front while they were talking, and Jane introduced him as the new tenant and then coldly asked him if it he needed something. Jane later claimed that she was helping Jesse out - protecting him from her dad. Jesse asked her about their relationship ("I'm talking about us - you and me") and she responded "Who is you and me?" which made Jesse storm out of the house. Jane's father was played by John de Lancie who played "Q" on several of the "Star Trek" series.
8. What did Walt discover in his house that led him to don his chemical suit and respirator?

Answer: Floor rot

When Walt was putting away his tools after installing the hot water heater, he realized that the floor in the utility room was decayed. Walt Jr. arrived home to find a hole in the utility room floor with Walt working down in the crawl space. Walt told him that the wood had fungus and needed to be replaced. Walt became obsessed with fixing the floor beams and was wearing his chemical suit and respirator as if he was working in his lab.

The next morning, when Skyler asked Walt if he was going to work, he replied "Skyler, there's rot".
9. Jane slid a drawing of which super hero under Jesse's door after their fight?

Answer: Apology Girl

Jesse had been very upset with Jane following her dad's visit. He clearly thought their relationship was more than she did. He was curled up on the chair in his living room, smoking drugs, when she slid the drawing under his front door. The drawing looked like Jane with a tear dropping from her eye and had the caption "Apology Girl". Jesse smiled and chuckled when he saw it, so it appeared to have worked.
10. To whom did Walt offer advice at the home improvement store when he was picking up sealer/primer?

Answer: A meth cook

Walt had finished replacing the floor beams and went to get sealer/primer for the wood. He saw a cart at the home improvement store with products that he knew were for making meth. He told the guy, who looked like a meth addict, that he had bought the wrong type of matches and further recommended that he shouldn't buy everything at the same store so that it wouldn't attract attention.

The guy freaked and ran away. While Walt was standing in checkout line, his expression changed, and he left the store without the sealer/primer.

He spotted the meth guy and his partner arguing in the parking lot next to a camper. He stared the partner down and told him, "Stay out of my territory". Heisenberg was back.
