2.5 "Breakage" Trivia Quiz

Jane told Jesse that she managed the apartment for her father and that she needed proof of employment and former residence in order to rent the space to him. He pleaded with her, telling her that he was out of options and really needed a break. She agreed, providing he paid more rent and an additional deposit.

She told him she'd fill out the paperwork and just asked him to sign it, which he did. When she asked him his name, he responded, "Jesse, Jesse... Jackson". "Seriously?" she asked, but he didn't get it.

Answer: Badger's cousin's compound

The last time Jesse was at Badger's cousin's compound, he drove the RV through the fence. So Clovis (Badger's cousin) was a bit surprised to see him return. But Jesse said that he was a man of his word, and he paid Clovis the remaining money he owed him plus additional cash for the broken portable toilet and smashed fence.

He then asked Clovis to let him store the RV in the compound, and Clovis finally agreed for a rate of $500 a week up front. Jesse even ended up buying a car from Clovis.

Hank's boss asked him to "bring [him] up to speed on Tuco Salamanca". "Dead." "Still?" "Completely." They laughed about it, and then Hank reported that things were pretty quiet on the streets but that it wouldn't last because Tuco's "turf was up for grabs". He told his boss that "we keep hearing the name 'Heisenberg'". Hank said that it might just be a "tweaker urban legend".

Answer: El Paso

Hank's boss told him that sharks were at the top of the food chain because they "would travel thousands of miles in pursuit of their prey" and that Hank was a great white shark. He then asked Hank how being the Albuquerque liaison to the task force sounded, and Hank told him it sounded like "one heck of a promotion".

When the guys found out he'd been promoted, they told him he was buying lunch.

Answer: In an elevator

Although Hank seemed his usual self in his interview with his boss, he had looked disturbed when he was sitting as his desk, staring at the present his team had given him in the last episode, the Lucite cube of Tuco's grill. He told Gomez and Buddy that he'd meet them downstairs, and as he headed down in the elevator, he started to gasp for breath.

By the time the elevator stopped, he appeared to be fine and headed out for lunch. He called in sick to work the next day however and spent the day bottling his home-brewed beer, "Schraderbräu".

Answer: Jesse

Not only did Walt need money to pay for the chemotherapy, he also needed to cover the hospital bills from his faked blackout episode. Skyler still believed that Elliott and Gretchen were paying for Walt's chemo, so she asked him if they might also cover the hospital bills since it was related to his illness. Walt said he'd check with them.

When Walt and Jesse met to cook, they discussed options for distribution. Walt preferred that Jesse sell the product directly again to avoid dealing with another "homicidal lunatic" like Tuco, but Jesse knew the DEA had his name so he told Walt he would hire people and handle the distribution.

Answer: In the toilet

Walt had been sick one night, and after the toilet jammed when he flushed it, he had to use the plunger and brought up a crumpled cigarette pack. He initially didn't confront Skyler, but he did check her car ashtray for ashes. Later when they were arguing, he brought up the cigarettes, asking if she knew anything about them. "Perhaps", she answered, "And then again, perhaps I don't. Perhaps I smoked them in a fugue state".

When Walt said that it wasn't like her to do this, she snapped back, "How would you know?"

Answer: He was robbed by a couple of junkies.

Jesse had signed up Skinny Pete, Badger and Combo to be his dealers and told them that they could sell the product for $2500 an ounce or whatever amount they wanted, but that he would get $2000. The guys felt the price was high, but they agreed that no one else was selling right now so they were able to sell the product.

However Skinny Pete got scammed; he had sold a packet to a junkie who went around the corner only to return, claiming that the police were coming. Pete took off with her and followed her right to another junkie who held him up at knife point.

When Jesse paid Walt his share, Walt asked why it was $1000 short, and Jesse explained that it was breakage and that it was the cost of doing business.

Answer: His home-brewed beer bottles exploding

When Hank was capping his bottles, he had shattered one of the bottles, cutting his hand. The bottles again caused him grief when several of them exploded during the night. Called "bottle bombs", the phenomenon is one of the dangers of home-brewing. Some of the causes include not allowing the beer to fully ferment before brewing and using expired ingredients. Hank heard the noise and headed into the garage with his gun and flashlight, expecting to find an intruder but instead found the bursting bottles -- more breakage.

Answer: His gun

When they were arguing over the breakage, Walt told Jesse that word would get out that "Jesse Pinkman, drug lord, can be robbed with impunity" and that this was an "unsustainable business model". Jesse tried to give Walt an extra $1000 to cover the loss, but Walt threw it back at him. Jesse asked him, "Seriously, what do you want me to do?" Walt had no answer, but later, Walt returned Jesse's gun to him and told him to handle it.
