2.21 "Comes the Inquisitor" Trivia Quiz

Answer: Who are you?

The Inquisitor came at the request of the Vorlons to interrogate Delenn. The purpose of the interrogation is to determine if Delenn is the correct person to lead in the upcoming Shadow War. Here is Delenn and Kosh's conversation -- Delenn: "Lennier said you were calling for me." Kosh: "Yes." Delenn: "Is there something wrong?" Kosh: "You, perhaps. We have sent for an inquisitor." Delenn: "An inquisitor? Why?" Kosh: "To be sure, about you. You will submit to his authority." Delenn: "How will I know who it is?" Kosh: "You will know, if you survive."

Answer: Sebastian

Sheridan asks the Inquistor to tell her the truth. This is his response: "The truth? You are not ready for the truth. The facts? If that's the only way to get to my work. Yes, the Vorlons have been to Earth. The Vorlons have been everywhere. The Vorlons are. My name is Sebastian. I resided at 14b Harrisford Lane in London in the year of our Lord 1888. I was found by the Vorlons. Taken, transported and brought into their service.

They told me everything about everything and the scales fell from my eyes and they were open to a universe of majesty and terror that you would never imagine.

They call upon me when I'm needed and preserve me when I'm not. And they have called upon me now for this interrogation. You will allow me to finish the work that has brought me here -- or you will let me leave because either way I have told you all that I intend to."

Answer: weapons dealer

G'Kar wants to start a Narn underground to help get the Centauri off of their homeworld. G'Kar contacts Mr. Chase in order to buy weapons for this purpose. G'Kar: "Mr. Chase, the money to buy these weapons comes from the life savings of those Narn who were able to escape the Centauri occupation.

It is a limited resource purchased with blood. If it should be squandered, stolen. Be assured that your body may one day be found. It could never be identified from what's left."

Answer: Vir

Vir feels guilty about what his people have done to the Narns, so he tries to apologize to G'Kar while in a transport tube. Vir: "I'm sorry. I wish...there was something that I could do. I tried telling them, but they wouldn't listen. They never listen...Sorry." [G'Kar cuts open his finger so that it bleeds, dripping blood onto the floor.

As each drop falls he says "Dead"] G'Kar: "Dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead. How do you apologize to them?" Vir: "I can't." G'Kar: "Then I can not forgive."

Answer: 1888

We get this information a couple of times in the episode, but here is the first time that it is spoken: "My name is Sebastian. I resided at 14b Harrisford Lane in London in the year of our Lord 1888."

Answer: pain givers

Sebastian places manacles on Delenn's wrist. When Delenn answers incorrectly, the pain givers torture Delenn. We also see pain givers in the episode, "The Parliament of Dreams." The Narn assassin uses a large set of pain givers around the neck of G'Kar to torture and slowly kill him.

Answer: Lennier

Lennier rushes into the room where Delenn is being held and tries to get her to leave. Delenn insists that she needs to stay and finish this by herself. Lennier leaves as Sebastian returns and goes to find Sheridan. Here is their conversation when he meets up with Sheridan. Lennier: "Captain Sheridan!" Sheridan: "Mr. Lennier, what can I do for you?" Lennier: "Defy Kosh! You're the only one who can - the only one he'll listen to!" Sheridan: Why? What's going on?" Lennier: "It's Ambassador Delenn... the inquisitor -- I think he's killing her!"

Answer: "Perhaps the world is right."

Here are some snipets from Delenn's interrogation. Delenn: "We all have a destiny." Sebastian: "Do we? How magnamious of you." Delenn: "Sometimes we do not see it, because we have been taught to believe that we are not important." ... Sebastian: "Why are you here, now, in this place, in this life?" Delenn: "I was meant to be here." Sebastian: "Meant?" Delenn: "Yes." Sebastian: "By whom?" Delenn: "I do not know." Sebastian: "Then how can you be sure." Delenn: "I don't know." Sebastian: "No, you don't?" Delenn: "Does it matter?" Sebastian: "What do you mean?" Delenn: "If I believe I'm here now for a reason..." Sebastian: "And if the world says otherwise?" Delenn: "Then the world is wrong!" Sebastian: "And Delenn is right? Perhaps the world is right and Delenn is worng? Have you ever considered that? Have you?" Delenn: "Yes. Sometimes." Sebastian: "Then there may be hope for you yet."

Answer: admiration sacrificial

Sheridan comes to rescue Delenn and is captured by Sebastian, who begins to question Sheridan. Delenn tries to stop Sebastian from torturing Sheridan and says: "Stop! You quarrel is with me. You were sent to investigate me. Let him go. If you want to take someone, take me. Sebastian: "Well, well. A mutual admiration and sacrificial society."

Answer: Jack

Here is that final conversation -- Sheridan: "I did a little digging based on what you told me. The records confirm you lived on earth in London in the year 1888. The records also indicate that you vanished suddenly without a trace on November 11th 1888.

It's a very interesting date, Mr. Sebastian. The morning after the last in a string of murders in the Westend..." Sebastian: "The city was drowning in decay, chaos, immorality. A message needed to be sent. And I did in blood for all the world to see! A warning! In the pursuit of my holy cause I did things... terrible things... unspeakable things.

The world condemned me but it didn't matter because I believed I was right and the world was wrong! I believed I was the divine messenger! I believed I was..." Sheridan: "Chosen?" Sebastian: "I was...found by the Vorlons.

They showed me the terrible depth of my mistake...my crimes, my...presumption. I have done 400 years of penance in their service. A job for which they said I was ideally suited. Now perhaps they will finally let me die..." Sheridan: "I think that might be wise." Sebastian: "Good luck to you in your holy cause, Captain Sheridan! May your choices have better results than mine. Remembered not as a messenger. Remembered not as a reformer, not as a prophet, not as a hero... not even as Sebastian. Remembered only -- as Jack."
