In a great deal of pain, John still manages to turn the wheel. John ends up in the Tunisian desert, in a great deal of torment. John spies a camera nearby and calls for help. Sometime later, he is whisked away to a hospital.

John finally awakens and Charles Widmore is at his bedside. Widmore says, "It's nice to see you again, John." Further, Widmore wants to know if John was exiled. John says that he wasn't. Widmore suggests that John has returned to take the Oceanic survivors back to the island. John denies it, being suspicious. Widmore says, "I understand you lying to me. I do. But there's something you should know. All your friends who left the island? They've been back three years."

In an effort to persuade the other survivors to return to the island with him, John intends to meet with each survivor, with the exception of one person. John finds Sayid in Santo Domingo. John visits with Kate in her home. Kate is also quite unyielding. She declares that the only reason John wanted to remain on the island is because John never loved anybody. "I think about you sometimes. I think about how desperate you were to stay on that Island. And then I realized... it was all because you didn't love anybody."

8. What is the name of John's long lost love?

Answer: Helen

John's former love interest is named Helen Norwood. John wants to find her. Abaddon is reluctant to take John to Helen. Finally, he relents and they go Helen's grave site. Abaddon tells John, "She died of a brain aneurysm. I'm very sorry, Mr. Locke."

9. After Abaddon is assassinated, John panics and drives away in hysteria. He crashes into a couple of cars and is taken to a hospital, only to find Jack sitting at his bedside. What does John say that startles Jack?

Answer: "Your father says hello."

Jack was very harsh with John, telling John that he isn't really important, but only a lonely old man. As Jack is leaving the room, John tells Jack that he met Christian Shephard. John explains, "A man...the man who told me to move the island...the man who told me how to bring you all back...he said to tell his son hello.

It couldn't have been Sayid's father, and it wasn't Hurley's, so that leaves you. He said his name was Christian." Jack is taken aback and replies, "He died in Australia three years ago. I put him in the coffin! He's dead." John makes a desperate plea for Jack's help, but Jack, with a great deal of emotion, tells John to leave them all alone and quickly leaves.

John makes preparations to hang himself. John writes a suicide note, addressed to Jack. He makes a noose out of cord, wraps it around his neck and stands on a table. Just as John is about to jump off the table, Ben breaks into the room and persuades John to continue his quest to gather the survivors.

However, when Ben hears the name Eloise Hawking, Ben strangles John with the same cord. Ben cleans up the room and says, "I'll miss you, John. I really will."
