In the beginning of this episode, the family is busy watching Julia Louis Dreyfus in an episode of 'Now It's Just Getting Sad'. When Brian is concerned with the rain outside, he asks to go to the bathroom in the house and he discovers that there's a position for an organist at the local church. Peter says that it won't be as rewarding as the time that he got a job feeding the homeless.

Lois applies for the job and she gets it by beating out the other applicants. When she returns home, Peter is only concerned with getting his dinner and Lois says that he can make it himself. Peter responds by claiming that he can cook no better than choosing a winner in a hot body/weird face competition (between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kirsten Dunst). Because of this and many other situations, Lois tells the family that they will all be attending church from then on due to their lack of moral fiber (she especially directs this at Meg).

The next weekend at church, Stewie gets hungry during the sermon and decides to run to the front to eat the communion wafers. He also decides to drink the wine and he ends up throwing up. Peter says that it was a waste of time, and that instead of going to church, he could have sat at home and watched his gladiator mice.

The next day, Lois is shocked to find that the town is angry with Stewie and that the reverend wants to perform an exorcism on Stewie because of the vomiting.

In order to escape the townspeople, who fear that the devil may be within Stewie, the Griffins flee to Texas, where Brian claims (sarcastically) that they're more tolerant to racial, gender, and stereotypical issues. The Quahog News later notifies viewers that a reward will be given to anyone helping with the search for Stewie, and when the family stops at a gas station on their way south, Brian quickly has to dress Stewie up as a girl to avoid being spotted.

This works despite the fact that Peter reveals to a police officer that Stewie is his son, and that he's in the nearby convenience store not once, but twice.

The Griffins arrive in Texas while Lois' sister Carol is on her ninth honeymoon and they meet the Lynches, who live next door. Mrs. Lynch is a homemaker while Mr. Lynch is a professional queer chaser and beater. After their first night in the house, Lois realizes that the family has become more wholesome and she doesn't notify them that the search for Stewie has ended. Chuck Norris also appears to punch Brian in the face with a fist hidden by his beard.

When Lois discovers that the family no longer needs to be on the run, the news says that the religious leaders have now recognized the Superdevil as a major threat. Meanwhile, Peter gets a horse because he feels that every Texan needs a horse or they'll stick out like a straight male figure skater. Brian decides to go to the liquor store as well where he's handed a free gun upon purchase.

When he exits the store, he gets a feel for shooting the gun and accidentally kills the Superdevil.

Meg and Chris are eager to join their new schoolmates in the Texan Youth Club, but in order to be accepted they need to steal a pair of George W Bush's underwear. Meanwhile, Peter ends up bringing his horse to bed with him, and it shows how much of a partnership he's gained. Stewie also becomes accepted in Texas, only he still wears the outfit that Brian created at the gas station. Lois enters him into the Little Miss Texas competition.

At the Little Miss Texas competition, Stewie introduces himself to a girl as Stephanie Griffin. The other girl says that her talent is singing, gymnastics, and playing six different instruments at the same time, so Stewie gets Chuck Norris to punch the little girl with the fist hidden in his beard. Meanwhile, Chris and Meg sneak into George W Bush's house where he gives them a few words of advice and his underwear.

Brian gets a call from his girlfriend, Jillian, who is asking about the 'Cheers and Jeers' section of a TV Guide. After telling her about the article, she informs Brian that the search has been over for weeks and he runs off to tell the family that they can return home. Meanwhile, Peter goes off to brand his first cow and he tells his new cowboy friends that he was deemed retarded back in Rhode Island (as shown in the episode "Petarded").

They are forced to put him into the electric chair as being retarded is against the law.

In the end, Peter is saved by his horse (voiced by Gilbert Gottfried) and Stewie performs his comedy act (which Brian criticized earlier) at the Little Miss Texas pageant. He tells Lois that they can return home and she reveals that she's known for weeks.

She says that she just wanted the family to live in a wholesome community. Stewie ends up winning the competition, but when he takes a bow his wig falls off and the audience assumes he's a homosexual. They are all saved by Peter and the horse and they return back home to Quahog.
