4. In 2000, Carter lay facing what "ER" character, who had been stabbed, ultimately to death?

Answer: Lucy Knight

Although Lucy didn't die right there and then, she did die later because of complications with her surgery (a pulmonary embolism). Lucy was stabbed by a schizophrenia patient having a delusion. The patient stole a knife which was being used to cut a Valentine cake, then hid and waited for Lucy to come into the room he was in. Final episode alive: Season 6, Episode 14: "All In The Family".
5. In 2000, what "Simpsons" character fell to her death at Springfield's Raceway?

Answer: Maude Flanders

It's always Homer's fault. At the Springfield Raceway, Homer painted a target onto his stomach so the cheerleaders would shoot free T-shirts at him. In the Season 4 finale of "Dexter", Dexter called his wife, Rita's, cell phone and heard it ring, still in the house. When Dexter went to look for it, he found Rita dead in the bathroom, in the bathtub full of her blood and their baby crying on the floor. Rita was no doubt killed by the Trinity killer. Final episode alive: Season 4, Episode 12: "The Getaway".
10. On "Grey's Anatomy", what was the wire that Izzie Stevens cut that essentially killed her fiancé, Denny Duquette?

Answer: LVAD

It was sad end to Season 2, for Izzie Stevens. Her fiancé, Denny, was in need of a third heart transplant.
