Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What Christmas song or parody played at the beginning of the episode after the main theme song played?

Answer: "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas"

The two episodes began and ended with this song. The "Lakeside Mall" song was from a previous episode in which Santa landed in the Bundys' backyard when his parachute didn't open.
2. Peg: "So, Al, what's the family plan for Christmas this year?" Which of the following is not one of the five things the 'loving family' named off?

Answer: "Two children waving?"

It was three nose hairs that were waving and the two children were starving. Al: "I guess this is what they mean when they say 'chestnuts roasting on an open fire!'"
3. Steve is going to spend this Christmas with "Mommy." When Marcy was down-and-out about Steve being gone, Al was supposed to say something to comfort her. "Don't spend time thinking about things you don't have..." Which of these was not listed by Al as things she doesn't have?

Answer: "Nice legs."

It was "nice HAIR". Although he doesn't like her legs either. Al: "Think instead about the things you do have. And when you do, let me know 'cause I've drawn a total blank! Merry Christmas!"
4. That night, Peggy approached Al with his present. Peggy: "Come unwrap your Christmas present." When she presented it to him, he replied, "Aw, Peg, how do you expect me to get excited when you just re-wrap the same old junk I didn't play with the year before?" What was the present?

Answer: Herself, wrapped in a bow.

Peg: "Oh, come on, Al. Thrill me as only you can. Show Mommy the Christmas club bankbook."
5. Al was approached by the family about spending all of his money on just the one of them. Which of the following was not a quote from this?

Answer: Bud: "The women, they were plotting against you. They don't love you like I do."

None of these pleas worked, however. Everybody was to get presents.
6. Two elderly ladies, the oldest using a walker, came into the shoe store to buy shoes just as Al was trying to leave for the bank. "We won't be but a minute." When the younger of the two didn't have the money, she turned to the other, her mother, who also didn't have the money. Who did the older woman call for?

Answer: "Her" mother, who was evidently just outside of the store.

Al made it to the bank at five minutes before closing time. But the bank closed up early.
7. Al came up with another way to make money for Christmas gifts. He opened up "Uncle Al's Christmas Tot Lounge." Complete the motto: "You leave 'em, we ________."

Answer: love 'em. (Yeah, he tied them in Christmas garland.)

They got to hear a nice Christmas story from Al, too. Little girl: "He depressed us!"
8. From Al's Christmas story: "T'was the night before Christmas, and all through the house, no _______ was a-stirring, not even a mouse."

Answer: food

"The children were plotting all night in their beds, while the wife's constant whining was splitting his head. The stockings were hung 'round dad's neck like a tie, along with a note that said, "presents, or die."
9. From Al's Christmas story: "Bundy," he said, "you only sell shoes, your son is a sneak-thief, your daughter's a flooze. Ho Ho," Santa said, "should I mention your wife? Her hair's like _________, her nails like a knife."

Answer: an A-bomb

Al: "Now, who wants to hear about the red-headed grinch who stole Uncle Al's life?"
10. The mothers of the children tie Al up. Midge: "And here's your money back, and yours, and yours, and yours, and yours. Okay Franklin, say goodbye to Uncle Al." How did Franklin say goodbye to Uncle Al?

Answer: He kicked him in the shin.

Store intercom: "Attention shoppers, the mall is now closing so that our merchants can get home and be with their loving families. Thank you for shopping with us. Merry Christmas and good night."
