Answer: Kate: "You decided to join us." Sawyer: "I'm a complex guy, sweetheart."

Kate and Sawyer first speak to each other in "Pilot: Part 2". Kate, Sayid, Charlie, Boone, and Shannon are on their way up the mountain to try and get a signal on a radio, and suddenly Sawyer appears out of nowhere to join them.
Sawyer hasn't exactly been very helpful since they crashed on the island, so it is easy to understand Kate's surprised reaction.

Answer: Confidence Man

In this episode, Sayid and Jack tie up and torture Sawyer to find out where Shannon's inhalers are, but he insists he will only tell Kate. When she comes to see him, he tells her that he will tell her if she gives him a kiss. After a very passionate and lengthy kiss, he admits that he never had the inhalers to begin with, and Kate promptly elbows him in the face.

Answer: When some of the survivors w ere climbing a mountain and came upon a steep incline, Sawyer grabbed Kate's hand and pulled her up.

Although all of these events actually took place, this is the first time we see Sawyer looking out for Kate, and it is in "Pilot: Part 2". This is also the same episode in which they speak for the first time. What a coincidence! He protects her from the boars in season one, the others scene is from season two, and the scene where he steps in front of er during an explosion doesn't happen until towards the end of season three.

Answer: She kisses him

When they are laying together after making love, Sawyer asks if she only said it to get Pickett to stop beating on him (she tells him that is why she said it in a previous episode when he confronted her about it). She says nothing, but instead just gives him a few sweet kisses and snuggles back up into him.

He must have gotten her point, because he then says "I love you, too". Although they are unaware, they are actually being recorded on camera. Jack happens to walk by one of the monitors at this moment and sees them together.

This obviously crushes Jack, as all true "Lost" fans know about the infamous Kate-Jack-Sawyer love triangle.

Answer: I never used the man who conned my parents as an excuse to do the same thing.

Although Kate never directly mentions the man who conned Sawyer's parents (this con leads to his parents' deaths) or Sawyer's less than honorable profession as a con man, she does seem to hit a nerve when she says,"I never carried around a letter for twenty years because I couldn't get over my baggage." She is referring to the "Dear Mr. Sawyer" letter that Sawyer wrote as a child to the man who slept with his mother, conned his parents, and led his father to kill his mother and then himself. This catches Sawyer off guard, and the "I nevers" only get more personal from there on.

It all ends with Kate and Sawyer both revealing they've killed a man, and Sawyer saying, "Well, I guess we have something in common after all." Kate was the one who said "I never had a one night stand", and she also jokes "I never blamed a boar for all my problems". Sawyer is the one who initially says "I never killed a man."

Answer: Strawberries

Kate responds to this by telling him he tastes like fish biscuits, which is something they've been eating a lot of lately. Sawyer figured out how to win them from a feeding system in his cage that was originally designed for polar bears. Tom (aka Mr. Friendly) once said that "It only took the bears two hours", to which Sawyer joked, "How many of them were there?" You've got to love him, even in dire circumstances he has a sense of humor.

Answer: That she only had sex with him because she thought he was going to die, and now she regretted it.

When Sawyer says to Kate, "Don't take it out on me cos' you feel guilty", Kate misunderstands and assumes that he is talking about leaving Jack behind. Kate and Sawyer slept together when his life was threatened by the others and all seemed hopeless, and that is what Sawyer is actually referring to. You can see from Kate's expression that she is hurt, and of course she denies regretting sleeping with him. Later in the episode, after pulling a dart out of Sawyer's foot, she gives him a chance to apologize and start with a blank slate.

He doesn't take the bait though, and they rejoin the rest of the survivors on the beach not exactly on good speaking terms.

Answer: six

This is from season three's "Every Man for Himself". Pickett is upset that his wife, Colleen, was killed by one of the survivors, and for some reason has taken it out on Sawyer ever since. Sawyer can't fight back because of the pace maker that he thinks the others implanted in his heart, so he just takes it, while Kate begs and cries for Pickett to stop.

She eventually breaks down and cries, "Yes! Yes, I love him! I love him. Please...stop it". Pickett leaves and orders one of the others to lock Sawyer back up as Kate sobs and holds Sawyer through the bars of her cage.

Answer: "In about a week, you'll find some reason to get pissed at Jack and bounce right back to me."

Although these were all things Sawyer said to Kate in this scene, it is his comment about Jack that really ticks Kate off. The argument started after they woke up in bed together and Kate told Sawyer she knew for sure she wasn't pregnant. Kate thought Sawyer seemed a little too overjoyed in receiving this news and says, "Would it really have been the worst thing in the world?" Sawyer replies "Yes. Yes it would have been the worst thing in the world."

Answer: "Just do it, Freckles."

Turns out the Oceanic Six was very close to being the Oceanic Seven. When the helicopter carrying them to the freighter, though, it started losing fuel. Lapetus orders everyone, Jack, Kate, Sun, Sayid, Hurley, Desmond, and Sawyer, to throw everything overboard that isn't bolted down, but that's not enough. Lapetus says something to the effect of wishing they were a couple hundred pounds lighter.

The helicopter was going down, and it was going down fast. This is when Sawyer makes a split-second decision.

He whispers something into Kate's ear, and Kate asks why he is telling her this. Sawyer then kisses her and says, "Just do it, Freckles." Those are the last words he speaks to her, because a moment later, he jumps out of the helicopter into the ocean.

He survives the long drop, so one can only hope that they will reunite one day. I hope you enjoyed playing this quiz as much as I enjoyed making it. Skate forever!
