Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How much did Cartman try to charge for the snow-shoveling service?

Answer: $8000

He might have misunderstood a bit the theory of negotiation which encourages starting high. However, when the homeowner first countered with $10, Cartman was able to bring her up to $15. Of course, claiming he was the "negotiator," Cartman just sat on his cell phone while the other boys did all the work!
2. According to the news, how did the time portal work?

Answer: it followed "Terminator" rules

News correspondent Harrison Moore reported, "I'm standing at the time portal, which scientists say, follows 'Terminator' rules. That is, it's one way only and you can't go back. This is in contrast to, say, 'Back to the Future' rules, where back and forth is possible, and of course 'Timerider' rules, which are just plain silly. Anyway, it appears that the man from the future is here to stay."
3. Where did the first gooback apparently get work?

Answer: Wendy's

When reporting on the second gooback to arrive, the correspondent said, "It looks as if the job at Wendy's did work for the original immigrant. This second arrivee claims that man's family is now much better off and wishes the same for his family."
4. How much were the goobacks charging for snow-shoveling services?

Answer: $0.25

The boys set out in the morning to make some money, but were told by the first homeowner they visited that she'd hired a gooback to do it for just $0.25. Kyle exclaimed, "25 cents? But that's not even worth it!" The boys set off to the next house but saw that there were goobacks shoveling every driveway on the street!
5. Explaining how Americans had evolved in the future, what language did the news correspondent NOT specifically mention had been integrated into the new American language?

Answer: Serbian

Correspondent Chris Hall explained, "It appears that in the future, Americans have evolved into a hairless uniform mix of all races. They are all one color, which is a yellowy light-brownish whiteish color. It seems race is no longer an issue in the future because all ethnicities have mixed into one. Perhaps most interesting is how this has affected their language.

The people in the future speak a complete mix of English, Chinese, Turkish, and indeed all world languages, which sounds something like this..." Here the reporter makes some guttural barking noises masquerading as words and sends it back to the anchor! One has to wonder how the Turkish-American population grew prominent enough to make its stamp on the lexicon, but who knows what the future holds?
6. Which industry did NOT speak up at the rally?

Answer: actors

There was an assembly of South Park denizens, all angry because they were losing their jobs:
Man 1: "All right, folks, my name is Darryl Weathers and I'm with the Construction Workers' Union. I work with a lot of fine men who have families to feed. Now I don't know about you all, but we worked long and hard to get our pay up to a level where we could make a decent living. And now these people from the future are showin' up and offerin' to do the same work for next to nothing'! They took our jobs!"
Other Men: [amongst general grumbling] "Yeah! That's right!"
Man 2: "We're in the moving business! 14 years we've been workin' our butts off! Now these future folk come in and we can't get work nowhere! [In a heavy hick accent] Dey took er jobs!"
Man 3: "Dey took yer jobs!"
Man 4: "Well what about us in the fast-food business? The restaurants are firing us 'cause the future people work for a lot less! [In a heavy hick accent] Dey took er jobs!"
Other Men: "Dey took yer jobs!"
Stan: "It's affecting kids, too! Me and my friends started our own snow-shoveling business. We were trying to be responsible and make money, you know? But then the people came along and, and now we're out of work, too! ... [After getting no response from the crowd, in a heavy hick accent] Oh, dey took er jobs!"
Other men: "Dey took yer jobs!"
7. When the angry South Park rednecks' petition to shoot anyone crossing the time portal was rejected, what was the first idea suggested for stopping the future from happening at all?

Answer: cause more global warming

They quickly determined that the only solution left was to "stop the future from happening", but brainstorming the logistics of that proved a little difficult:
Darryl Weathers: "So, any ideas how we can stop the future from happening?"
Chet: "How about we cause more global warming, so that in the future, the polar ice caps melt, and, and it ushers in a new Ice Age?"
Darryl Weathers: "How the hell is global warming gonna cause an Ice Age?"
Chet: "Well, you know, the... global warming could bring on like a climate shift or somethin'."
Darryl Weathers: "Chet, you are a [total] retard, you know that? Even if global warming were real, which all proven scientific data shows it isn't, it would take millions of years for a climate shift to happen! You think an ice age can just happen all of a sudden-like?"
Chet: "Well, I was just tryin' to be helpful."
Darryl Weathers: "Well help yourself to a [stupid] science book, 'cause you're talking' like a [complete] retard! Now, come on people, we've got to think! Dammit, they took our jobs!"
8. When Stan tried to order at Wendell's Burgers, what did the goobacks keep thinking he wanted?

Answer: chicken sandwich

Stan very clearly asked for a "double cheeseburger and fries" but the cashier didn't understand and repeated the order back to him as "chicken sandwich?" As Stan got frustrated, the gooback cashier and gooback manager conferred and the manager took over the transaction.

However, he didn't understand Stan either, and Stan ended up blowing up: "No, it's not a chicken sandwich! I want a goddamned cheeseburger and some goddamned fries you [stupid] goobacks!" Just then, Stan's parents walked in and were horrified to see Stan's "timecist" explosion.
9. Did Randy Marsh join the orgy?

Answer: yes

After he was replaced at his job by a gooback with geology knowledge, Randy joined the gay orgy and even became its spokesperson!
10. Stan suggested getting rid of the goobacks by making the future a better place so there would be no need for them to come back in time. Did his idea work?

Answer: yes

Stan told the news correspondent: "I think it's wrong to call them goobacks because they're no different from us. They're just humans trying to make their lives better. Look, it sucks that the immigrants' time is so crappy, but the cold hard truth is that if we let them all come back to our time, then it's just gonna make our time crappy too. Maybe the answer isn't trying to stop the future from happening, but making the future better. [...] I mean, maybe if we all commit right now to working toward a better future, then... then the future won't be so bad, and these immigrants won't need to come back here looking for work." The South Park residents banded together to work for a better future; they planted trees, installed solar panels, took food to African tribesmen, opened a wind farm, gave gifts to the homeless, and more! Sure enough, the goobacks started to disappear.

However, it didn't take long for the boys to stop what they were doing and observe, "this is even gayer than all the men getting in a big pile and having sex with each other." Everyone concurred, and they went "back to the pile!"
