Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What word or phrase did Al Gore consistently use instead of "serious?"

Answer: serial

Al Gore came to South Park Elementary to give a presentation on "the single biggest threat to our planet:" ManBearPig. As Gore explained, "It is a creature which roams the earth alone. It is half man, half bear, and half pig. Some people say that ManBearPig isn't real. Well, I'm here to tell you now, ManBearPig is very real, and he most certainly exists. I'm serial. ManBearPig doesn't care who you are or what you've done. ManBearPig simply wants to get you! I'm super-serial." The kids and staff clearly weren't sure how to react to Gore's seemingly crazy presentation, and clapped weakly out of social obligation.
2. What were the boys doing when Al Gore tried to scare them dressed as ManBearPig?

Answer: playing basketball

The game seemed to be dragging on because Cartman was hogging the ball, sure he could pull out at least one "sweet move." When Gore jumped out of the bushes in a makeshift ManBearPig costume, the boys knew immediately who it was. They were signing Gore's "awareness sheet" when Randy Marsh pulled up and told the boys he'd drive them home. Randy told the boys he didn't want them hanging out with Gore anymore, claiming "the Vice President is just desperate for attention."
3. In the Cave of the Winds tour, the guide pointed out a number of phallic rock formations. What was NOT the name of one of those formations?

Answer: Swollen Lollipop

The stalactites and stalagmites were very vivid depictions of male genitalia, though the tour guide didn't let on that he noticed the resemblance!
4. What caused the cave-in at the Cave of the Winds?

Answer: Al Gore shot the walls

Gore led the boys away from the tour group, and when they heard the caves' namesake wind, Gore was convinced it was ManBearPig and started shooting the walls. After only a couple shots, the structure of the cave was sufficiently damaged as to cause a collapse! Everyone managed to escape the cave-in except for the boys, who were left to await rescue.
5. With what did Al Gore want the rescue personnel to fill the cave?

Answer: hot molten lead

Gore insisted that the only way to stop ManBearPig was to fill the cave with "hot molten lead." The rescue worker pointed out that filling the cave with hot molten lead would also kill the boys, but Gore insisted that ManBearPig had already attacked the boys, "and ManBearPig leaves nobody alive!" Gore finally threw a little tantrum, upset that no one was taking him seriously.
6. How did Cartman smuggle the treasure?

Answer: ate it

Much like a drug mule, Cartman swallowed the gold coins and jewelry and washed them down with water. The other boys couldn't fathom how Cartman was getting fatter in the caves while they were starving!
7. When the rescue personnel rejected Al Gore's suggestion, what did he fill the cave with on his own?

Answer: water

Gore used a crane to drop a bunch of logs into a nearby river, causing the water to divert and flood the cave. The rescue personnel concluded that "God must really want those kids dead" to have caused a "freak river flood."
8. Who was left struggling to save Cartman when he couldn't swim for himself?

Answer: Kyle

Stan and Kenny had swum to safety, but Kyle was being weighed down by Cartman. Kyle urged Cartman to kick, but Cartman refused, probably realizing the effort would make him lose a few coins!
9. Did Cartman make it home with his treasure?

Answer: no

As soon as the boys emerged from the cave, Cartman refused medical attention, insisting he just needed to get home to the toilet. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to waddle far before his bowels shot out a whole pile of treasure. When one of the tour guides identified it as the "fake treasure from [the] Smuggler's Den photo room," Cartman was crushed that all his effort had been for naught!
10. What accessory did Al Gore don after the kids emerged safely from the cave?

Answer: a cape

Thinking he had "killed" ManBearPig, Gore clearly considered himself on par with a superhero and donned a red cape. He stood in front of the crowd and announced, "Well, my work here is done. I've killed MBP, and now I must save the world from something else. Maybe I'll make a movie.

A movie starring me. Then people will take me super serial. Excelsior!" And with that, Gore pretended to fly off, zigzagging back and forth with his arms extended before him!
