Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What journalism award did Cat Grant win in this episode?

Answer: Siegel Award

The award is not real, but instead was named after one of the creators of the "Superman" universe, Jerry Siegel.

Cat at first refused to go accept the award because she couldn't find a babysitter for her son, but her staff eventually convinced her to go.
2. Who did Cat beat out for her prestigious award?

Answer: Lois Lane

Lois Lane is the journalist Cat despises most. She frequently does things only so that she can claim to have done it either before Lois, or better than Lois.

Prior to starting her own media company, Cat and Lois both worked at The Daily Planet.

In later episodes Cat even hired Lois' sister Lucy to work for CatCo, but that will be covered in a future quiz.
3. Cat's son was introduced in this episode, what is his name?

Answer: Carter

Carter is a young child, but his specific age wasn't mentioned.

Carter was portrayed as a hard to handle child, but Kara managed to babysit him while Cat travelled overnight for the journalism conference.

It was also revealed that Carter was a big fan of Supergirl.
4. Supergirl was under drone surveillance while she fought and patrolled the city early in the episode.

Answer: True

After taking out the drone that was following her around, Supergirl's boss at the DEO, Hank Henshaw, told her it belonged to Lord Technologies.

It was revealed that Maxwell Lord caused accidents around the city simply to see how Supergirl would respond to them.
5. In this episode, what did Lucy Lane do for a living?

Answer: She was a lawyer for the military.

Lucy worked for the U.S. Army as an attorney. It was never made clear if she was a commissioned officer or a civilian contractor.

She was assigned to a command lead by her father, Gen. Sam Lane.
6. Lucy and James revisited their former relationship where it was revealed that which of them ended it the first time?

Answer: Lucy

Lucy had dumped James back when they both lived in Metropolis because he had an "unhealthy" relationship with Superman. She said that he prioritized Superman over her and that wasn't good enough.

She came to National City with the Army, but specifically made time to visit James while she was there. Later in the episode they were shown kissing.
7. There were two bombs placed at opposite ends of the city. One was at the airport, where was the other?

Answer: On a train.

Lucy was at the airport and Carter was on the train. Lucy was heading back to Metropolis and Carter had ran away from Winn to look for his mother.

Supergirl later found out that there was a fail safe hidden in both bombs that would have stopped them from going off.
8. Who placed the bombs around National City?

Answer: Ethan Knox

Neither the Toyman nor Lex Luthor had appeared in the first season of the show yet at the time of this episode airing. Hank was a good guy.

Ethan Knox was a former Lord Technologies employee who was trying to save his own daughter. It was later uncovered that Maxwell Lord was paying the medical bills for Knox' daughter.
9. What did Hank Henshaw do that made him appear to be more than human?

Answer: Ripped open a bomb bare handed

It wouldn't be revealed for several more episodes, but Hank Henshaw the human had died years ago and was replaced by the shape shifting J'onn J'onzz, otherwise known as the Martian Manhunter.

In this episode the precursor to that reveal was shown when his eyes glowed yellow, and again later when he tore open the bomb as the clock was running down.
10. Who died in the episode?

Answer: Ethan Knox

Knox was the only character who actually appeared in the episode.

Knox detonated the bomb he had on the train after Supergirl had evacuated everyone else off of it. She was unable to get him off the train before the bomb went off as the train engine crossed over a bridge.
