Teams departed from the Pit Stop in Oman and were told to travel to the island country of Mauritius. Once there, teams would find their clues in their cars. David and Mary, who were first to arrive at the Kuwait City Pit Stop, departed at 12:37, while Tyler and James, who arrived last, left five hours later. All of the teams departed to Mauritius on the same flight.

Once teams found their cars in Mauritius, they found their clue in the form of a model ship. Teams needed to drive to Isla Mauritia in Grand Baie, and once there, they had to swim to the boat for their next clue. Once teams swam back to the shore, they could open the clue. This told teams to travel forty-nine miles to Case Noyale Post Office.

At the Post Office, teams obtained their Detours. In 'Salt', teams needed to drive two miles to a local salt bed and search in three piles of salt for a salt shaker containing their clue. Although five different teams began this task, none of them completed it when they realized that some of the shakers only contained pepper. Dustin and Kandice did not attempt this task.

Answer: Sea

In 'Sea', teams needed to drive to the ocean and hop on board a boat. When teams reached their destination (about 2/3 of a mile away), they needed to use a treasure map to find some sails. When they returned this sail to their boat and hooked it up, they'd receive their clue. This clue told teams to head to the Pit Stop.

Answer: Dustin and Kandice

After the Deotur, teams had to drive 12 miles to Chateau Bel Ombre on the Mauritian coast. The first team to arrive, Dustin and Kandice, won a pair of motor scooters. This was also their first first-place win on a leg. The last team to arrive was David and Mary, and although they could have been eliminated, Phil once again announced that they had arrived at a non-elimination leg. Once again, they were 'Marked for Elimination'.

Answer: Antananarivo

Departing from Chateau Bel Ombre, teams were instructed to travel 700 miles by plane to the country of Madagascar. Dustin and Kandice, who arrived at 3:00pm, departed first at 3:00am. In the capital city of Antananarivo, teams needed to find the Black Angel statue, where they would find their next clue waiting for them. Teams departed from this Pit Stop with $10 extra. Everyone was on the same flight.

Answer: Rob and Kimberly

At the Black Angel, teams encountered the Intersection, a new twist in the game. Once teams arrived here, they would have to team up with another team and make all choices together until they were told to stop. Rob and Kimberly teamed up with Tyler and James, Dustin and Kandice teamed up with Erwin and Godwin and David and Mary teamed up with Lyn and Karlyn.

Tyler and James and Rob and Kimberly went straight to the Road Block together after hitting the intersection. In the Fast Forward, teams needed to drive two and a half miles to a market to eat servings of cow lips. Once each team member ate a serving of cow lips, they could take the Fast Forward Clue. The Pit Stop took teams to the Cathedral Andohalo.

In 'Long Sleep', teams took a van and travelled in pairs 2.2 miles to an open air market. Here, teams needed to cover foam mattresses and carry them as a group to an address given to them. Once they were delivered, teams would receive their clue. The four non-Fast Forward teams completed this task.

The second task, 'Short Letter', required that teams take a van 3.5 miles to a location where they had to decorate and create twnety-eight sheets of paper. After this task, teams were told to head to the base of a staircase in a market four miles away. Teams were no longer under the control of the Intersection after this task.

Answer: Kandice

At the Road Block, one team member needed to search rubber stamp vednors lining the stairs connecting the upper and lower districts of the city for stamps with images of a plane, boat, train, and car on it. Once the team member stamped all four, they could meet their team member at the Cathedral Andoholo, the Pit Stop for this leg of the race. Dustin and Kandice arrived first and won a trip to Hawaii and a helicopter tour. Fast Forward winners Tyler and James arrived second while Rob and Kimberly placed third.

Although David and Mary placed fifth, they were marked for elimination, and were unable to overcome the thirty minute penalty. They were eliminated in Leg 8.
