Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. During Leg 3, teams took a train from Delhi, India to what city?

Answer: Jaipur

During their mandatory Pit Stop rest period, the remaining ten teams took a bus ride five houses southwest to from Delhi to the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan. Leaving on the next leg of the race, teams were told to take a cycle rickshaw and make their way to the Red Elephant Temple. Once there, everyone was blessed by a Hindu priest in a traditional Indian ceremony before receiving their next clue.
2. The third leg of the race, in which teams raced in India, was the first to feature a Road Block.

Answer: True

After receiving their blessings, teams found the first Road Block of the race asking for the team member who was also a fast learner. In this task, the racers had to master the road, heading to the Bharat Driving and Maintenance School and passing a driving test.

When they passed the oral brush-up and drove themselves to Jaipur Market, they would receive their next clue from their instructor. Michelle, Sticky, Russ, Sue, Kym, Paul, Shane, Grace, Sarah, and Emilia completed this task.
3. Delivering clay pots in Leg 3 (in India), teams who broke fifteen clay pots had a penalty of what length?

Answer: Fifteen minutes

At Jaipur Market, teams were asked to deliver seventy-five large, clay pots by stacking them however they chose onto the back of an ox cart and leading them down the streets to the other end of the open-air shopping center. If any teams managed to do so without breaking fifteen of them, they would continue on unabated but if they broke fifteen or more, they would need to wait out a fifteen-minute time penalty at the drop-off point before being allowed to continue on with the leg. Russ and Tarryn avoided the penalty as did Joseph and Grace and James and Sarah.
4. During the second Road Block of Leg 3 (in India), team members had to count which of the following?

Answer: Steps

After the rough delivery task, teams found a second Road Block task, this one asking for the team member who was also 'a stairmaster'. In this task, both team members had to head to Panna Meena ka Kund, a step well near the Amber Fort. Once there, the selected team members had to descend into the step well to reach a guru, but they would only do so if they took forty-one steps downward and ten steps upward. Only when they got the correct combination would they receive their next clue. Michelle, Sticky, Tarryn, Sue, Donna, Paul, Andrew, Joseph, James, and Emilia completed this one.
5. Which team was eliminated from the race in Leg 3 (in India)?

Answer: Sue and Teresa

Following the Road Block, teams ended up racing to the third Pit Stop of the race, the Nahargarh Fort. Stepping on the mat atop the roof overlooking Jaipur, Sticky and Sam took their second win in a row, this time receiving a home entertainment system from Bing Lee valued at $5,000.

After faltering during the second Road Block, Sue and Teresa ended up dropping from their front-running position and getting eliminated at the end of this leg of the race.
6. Before starting Leg 4, teams were forced to take part in a mandatory U-Turn vote. Which team was forced to complete both Detour options in Leg 4?

Answer: Paul and Steve

During Leg 4, teams opened their clues at the Nahargarh Fort in Jaipur, India. While there, however, before they left for the international airport in Delhi, all of the remaining teams were required to vote for a team to be U-Turned during the leg. The vote was done anonymously and by majority. Ultimately, while four different teams received votes, Paul and Steve ended up receiving six of them and did not discover their fate until reaching the Detour in another country.
7. In Leg 4, teams departed from India and flew to what Middle Eastern metropolis?

Answer: Dubai

After hitting up their U-Turn board, teams ended up returning to Delhi, India and catching a flight to the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Upon their arrival, teams needed to locate the airport car park; they could find their next clues in their vehicles. Teams ended up taking two separate flights to Dubai, arriving two hours apart early in the morning.
8. One of the Detour tasks in the desert in Leg 4 was 'Dune Bash'. The other involved which animals?

Answer: Camels

After arriving in Dubai, teams located their Detour clues sending them ninety kilometers out of the city and into the Al Faqa Desert to choose 'Dune Bash' or 'Camel Dash'. In 'Dune Bash', teams hopped into dune buggies for a ride around a ten kilometer course.

In 'Camel Dash', teams rode a camel around a course to collect four coloured flags. All of the teams ended up deciding the complete 'Dune Bash'. Paul and Steve had no choice but to complete both tasks.
9. In Leg 4, teams not selecting a winning horse at the horse races were required to do which of the following to complete their task?

Answer: Carry their teammate around the track

After the Detour, teams headed back into Dubai and drove to the Wild Wadi Water Park. There, teams had to ride on a boogie board, jump into the wave machine, and ride the surf on their stomachs to reach their next clue. After this, teams were told to drive to the Meydan Racecourse. If they were able to select a winning horse by the time the races ended, they would receive their next clue.

Otherwise, one team member would need to carry their partner around the track and across the finish line...once the place had cleared out...to complete the task.
10. Which team did not reach the fourth Pit Stop of the race, resulting in their elimination?

Answer: Kym and Donna

After stopping at the Meydan Racecourse, teams were directed to the fourth Pit Stop of the race, the helipad atop the Four Points Hotel in Dubai. James and Sarah ended up stepping onto the Pit Stop mat in first place, selecting the correct horse at the race course on a whim (at the same time as Sticky and Sam and Joseph and Grace).

They ended up winning a trip for two to New Zealand valued at $10,000. After a long day, the teams continued to check in later and later after one another; Paul and Steve ended up overcoming their Detour to arrive in sixth while Lucy and Emilia were detained en route to the Pit Stop and showed in eighth. Kym and Donna didn't even make it to the Pit Stop. Getting lost en route to Meydan Racecourse, they were eliminated in their car off the freeway.
