Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In Leg 11, teams made their way over the Pacific to what Chinese city?

Answer: Beijing

In the start of the penultimate leg of the race, the final four teams departed from the Banff Springs Resort in Alberta, Canada, took a bus to Calgary, and caught a flight over the International Date Line to Beijing, the capital city of China. Upon their arrival, teams had to head to the Ghost Street Food District where a marked stall would house their next clue. All four teams took the same flight via Vancouver.
2. How many teams completed the 'Waiter' Detour option in China in Leg 11?

Answer: Two

Reaching Ghost Street in Beijing, teams ended up stumbling upon a food-related Detour task, a choice between 'Waiter' and 'Wheel'. In 'Waiter', teams dressed up as waiters and took the orders of eight restaurant customers in Mandarin Chinese. Then, they had to give the orders to the chef and return to serve the dishes to the correct patrons.

In 'Wheel', teams spun a lazy susan which would determine which local delicacies they would have to stomach. Both members had to eat two dishes (some containing starfish, cockroaches, and more creepy crawlies) to continue. Only Michelle and Jo chose 'Waiter' while the other three teams chose 'Wheel'.
3. During Leg 11, teams received a massage for which body part during their visit to China?

Answer: Foot

After the Detour, teams had to make their way to the Wuzhisheng Foot Reflection Health Center in Beijing where, in a definitely-not-relaxing task, both team members had to receive a ten minute foot massage. If any team member asked for the horrible pain to stop, they would have to begin their allotted time all over again. Following this, teams had to proceed to the eight hundred year old Marco Polo Bridge where, in the morning, a successful count of the lion statues on its sides (446) would result in their next clue.
4. Teams completed their penultimate Road Block in China (in Leg 11) at which location?

Answer: The Great Wall of China

After the bridge count, teams found a Road Block task waiting for them. For this one, teams made their way to the Great Wall of China, specifically to the Mutianyu section. There, the selected team member needed to make their way through nine rows of warriors by picking the one warrior in each line-up that would let them through. If they were blocked three times they would have to start the task from the beginning.

At the top, they would receive their next clue.
5. Which team was eliminated in China in Leg 11?

Answer: Joseph and Grace

At the end of their penultimate leg, the teams were told to make their way to their final Pit Stop of the race-- the Imperial Ancestral Temple at the Forbidden City of China. Despite leaving the Great Wall in second place, Michelle and Jo overtook Paul and Steve to win their first leg, also claiming $5,000 each.

They were followed by Paul and Steve and Shane and Andrew in second and third. Joseph and Grace, unable to pay their cabbies and forced to walk a great distance, did not make it to the Great Wall and were eliminated on the course.
6. During their final Pit Stop, teams were sent to which location in China for the last leg of the race?

Answer: Guilin

During their last Pit Stop, the final three teams were flown from Beijing, China to Guilin in the southeast of the country. Here, teams ended up needing to visit the Lijiang River at 8:30 in the morning, where they would have to ask the cormorant fishermen for their next clue in Mandarin.

When the teams received their clue (instead of a fish), they were able to make their way onward to Yangshuo, China to begin a Detour task.
7. In Yangshuo, China, teams completing the Detour had to work with which of these?

Answer: Children

Heading to the town of Yangshuo, the three teams needed to reach a kindergarten school for one last Detour task. In 'Teach', teams needed to teach a local student ten Aussie slang words. When the child could recite all ten they would receive their next clue. In 'Learn', teams had to learn the same ten phrases from a local student, only in Mandarin. When they could recite all ten they could continue. All three teams chose 'Learn'.
Following the Detour, teams headed to Bai Ha Market where they had to sell ten vegetable slicers to get their next clue.
8. What Australian city was the final destination for the race?

Answer: Brisbane

After making the hard sell in China, teams were told to head to the airport to fly back to Australia, specifically the city of Brisbane. Upon their arrival, the three teams drove themselves from the airport to Captain Burke Park at Kangraoo Point for the next clue box.

When this was done, teams then had to go to Dutton Park to find the Boggo Road Gaol. There, one member had to answer five questions about the race while locked into a cell. If their partner could give matching answers locked in the cell immediately after, they could continue on.
9. The final Road Block of the race was held in Australia.

Answer: True

After completing their matching game, teams were told to fly via a charter plane from Brisbane to Fraser Island to drive onward to the final tasks of the race. Landing at 75 Mile Beach, the teams found the final Road Block of the race at Lake McKenzie.

Here, one member of each pair was required to swim into the waters off the beach to answer trivia questions about the race, placing coloured markers at each one to answer. If they got the questions correct, they could receive their next clue. This reunited the team members for one last task.
10. Which team won "The Amazing Race Australia 2", arriving across the Finish Line in first place?

Answer: Shane and Andrew

Heading onward to Lake McKenzie, both team members had to dig in the sand to unearth a treasure chest containing the prize money. After unearthing the $250,000 grand prize, the final three teams were able to run onward down the beach to the other side of the lake and the Finish Line.

There, Shane and Andrew ended up staying in the lead long enough to win the race, taking with them the unearthed prize and becoming the second victors of "The Amazing Race Australia). They ended up being followed by Paul and Steve in second place and Michelle and Jo in third.
