Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In many ways the Celebrity 'Big Brother' house had an unusually luxurious feel to it in 2010, but its underlying theme was not quite so comfortable. What theme did the producers come up with to ensure the housemates' stay was not always a happy one?

Answer: Hell

From the fiery 'eye' logo to the flame-decorated Diary Room door and rather sinister-looking 'clown alarms' at the top of each bed, the 2010 Celebrity 'Big Brother' House hinted at the expectation of conflict from the start. The autopsy-themed kitchen adorned with insects in specimen jars was just one of the macabre highlights.
2. Ekaterina Ivanova, known as Katia, the former girlfriend of Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood, was the first housemate to be evicted. There was a second eviction on the same night; who was the second housemate to go?

Answer: Heidi Fleiss

Heidi Fleiss, formerly known as the 'Hollywood Madam', was the second housemate to be evicted on Day 13, following Katia out of the house. The third housemate who was nominated for the first public vote was English rapper Lady Sovereign, who lasted a few more days in the house to become the third evictee on Day 16.
3. Ivana Trump was not one of the original eleven housemates to join the house, entering as she did on Day 6. What was the unusual means of her entrance?

Answer: through a magician's cabinet

Ivana entered the house via a magician's disappearing cabinet into which Lady Sovereign had entered and been 'disappeared' by American R&B singer Sisqo, playing the part of a magician. When he waved his wand to bring Lady Sovereign back and Ivana appeared instead, his face was a picture! Lady Sovereign's whereabouts were a puzzle to the housemates until she reappeared a little later.
4. One of the male housemates was a Swedish singer-songwriter and DJ with the professional name of Basshunter. What is his real name, which was also the name by which he was known to his fellow housemates?

Answer: Jonas

Jonas Altberg kept his place in the house until the last night. His song 'Now You're Gone' was a UK No 1 for four weeks in 2007. He had spent the early days in the house canoodling with Katia, but this was abruptly cut short when she became the first person to be evicted.
5. Which American actor, the youngest of four famous acting brothers, was one of the celebrity housemates?

Answer: Stephen Baldwin

Well-known for many films including his role as Michael McManus in 'The Usual Suspects' (1995), Stephen Baldwin lasted in the CBB house until Day 20, when he was the first to be evicted in a double eviction with fellow American Sisqo. A born-again Christian, Stephen was permitted by Big Brother to read his Bible for one hour a day, which was unusual as reading material is normally banned in the House with the exception of the 'Big Brother' rule book.
6. There was something planted in the garden to entice the housemates into participating in 'secret tasks' to win privileges. Alex, Dane, Nicola and Vinnie all fell under its spell. What was it?

Answer: The Tree of Temptation

The Tree of Temptation appeared as a talking tree, catching housemates unawares while they were alone in the garden. It had Alex kicking down a snowman his housemates had spent some time building, much to their dismay. It also promised Dane the reinstatement of privileges if he ruined dinner one night by supplying him with chili powder, but it was only when this failed and he was given another chance by faking a nightmare that he was successful in his task. Nicola won a message from home in her 'home truths' task by telling each housemate something about themselves they might have preferred not to hear, and Vinnie was able to watch a football match on television in the secret room by pretending to Alex that he liked cross-dressing, and also by pretending to show his emotions to his fellow housemates.
7. On Day 22 Dane, as the 'keeper of the key', was told by Big Brother he was going to be given the chance to access a secret room. He was allowed to take one housemate with him to share the treat. Who did he take?

Answer: Jonas

Dane and Jonas had to wait until all the other housemates were asleep before making their way to the secret room, where they feasted on beer and pizza, and had a good time playing computer games. When they made their way back to bed the other housemates were still asleep, so they were not discovered.
8. On the evening of Day 23, the housemates celebrated winning their task with an awards party, where they presented each other with awards relating to their time in the house. What event earlier in the day had made this party possible?

Answer: Ivana won a fake magazine award

A spoof 'award' was set up by Big Brother for Ivana, telling her she had won an award in fake Scandinavian magazine Kugel Fresh. The housemates were sworn to secrecy that the award was fake. After Ivana had been filmed receiving her award the housemates had to tell her the trophy was poor quality, drink from it and, finally, break it. Stephanie broke the trophy accidentally before they drank from it, but they managed to piece it together well enough to complete the task. Ivana was very gracious when told the award had been fake and took it all in good part, saying she had guessed it was a spoof from the start.

The evening was only eclipsed by Alex asking Jonas to help him with his spray tan, with hilarious results...
9. Day 25 saw another double eviction. Which two housemates were evicted this time?

Answer: Ivana and Nicola

Ivana Trump was evicted first via the front door to be greeted by a cheering public. In a surprise eviction later that night, model Nicola T was evicted barefoot after having been summoned to the Diary Room wearing a chicken costume as part of the day's 'farmyard' task. Big Brother presenter Davina McCall then entered the house via the Diary Room, wearing Nicola's chicken costume; the housemates guessed immediately it was not Nicola wearing the costume, but it took them longer to realize it was Davina who had switched places.
10. Day 27, 10.22 p.m. And the winner of Celebrity 'Big Brother' 2010 is...? Of the remaining five housemates who made it through to the grand finale, who emerged the victor?

Answer: Alex

The first contestant to be evicted was actress Stephanie Beacham, followed shortly afterward by Jonas Altberg, aka Basshunter. Of the remaining three housemates, the next to be voted out of the house was actor and ex-footballer Vinnie Jones, leaving cage-fighter Alex Reid and singer-songwriter Dane Bowers to await the result of the final public vote.

After the traditional long wait, Davina announced that Alex had won. Dane came out of the house first, for his interview with Davina, then Alex appeared, to be hailed as the winner with fireworks and applause. Celebrity 'Big Brother' 2010 had been billed by Channel 4 as the last UK Celebrity 'Big Brother' ever.

Although the main 'Big Brother' show had been an annual event, there had in fact been only seven series of the 'Celebrity' version. Alex Reid was a very popular winner to conclude the franchise.
