Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Fine! Plenty of other fish in the sea. Oh, yeah, I'm...on the prowl. Witness me prowling!"

Answer: Jesse

Jesse is trying to pump himself up after getting the cold shoulder from Cordelia in "Welcome to the Hellmouth." Jesse only appears in the first two episodes. He becomes a vampire in "The Harvest," and is staked by Xander.
2. "We're talking violence, strong language, adult content..."

Answer: Buffy

Buffy is warning Darla and Thomas that their encounter with her will be far from pleasant in "Welcome to the Hellmouth." She is true to her word, as she stakes Thomas and beats on Darla.
3. "And like a plague of boils, the race of man covered the Earth."

Answer: Luke

As Buffy and Luke fight at the end of "Welcome to the Hellmouth," Luke uses apocalyptic images to frighten Buffy. Luke becomes the vessel in "The Harvest," but is unable to free The Master due to his extreme dust heap! Brian Thompson, the actor who portrayed Luke, returned to Buffy in Season Two as The Judge.
4. "Let's take an enormous intuitive leap, shall we, and say they went underground."

Answer: Giles

Giles is being a tad condescending in this quote from "The Harvest." They are in the midst of discussing where Luke could have disappeared to, when Giles brings up the fact that vampires use the sewer system to get around Sunnydale during the day. Duh!
5. "They really don't like me."

Answer: Angel

Angel is explaining to Buffy why he doesn't venture down into bowels of Sunnydale in "The Harvest." Buffy only discovers later that Angel is actually a vampire.
6. "Yeah! You're the Slayer, and we're, like, the Slayerettes!"

Answer: Willow

7. "It's funny how the Earth never opens up and swallows you when you want it to."

Answer: Xander

Xander is feeling quite embarressed by his tongue-tied behavior in front of Ms French in "Teacher's Pet." Blayne wisks Ms French away from Xander, creating even more embarrassment for Mr. Harris. Xander and Blayne later become the chosen virgin mates for Ms French, who just happens to be a giant bug!
8. "We are talking full on exorcist twist!"

Answer: Buffy

Buffy is describing the head rotating ability of Ms French in this quote from "Teacher's Pet." Buffy uses a vampire to track down the She-Mantis, and saves Xander and Blayne from having their heads bitten off.
9. "You vixen!"

Answer: Willow

Willow says this to Buffy in the episode "Never Kill a Boy on the First Date." Buffy has just borrowed one of Emily Dickinson's books to impress her lastest crush, Owen.
10. "Well, we could invite the chess club, but they drink and start fights..."

Answer: Owen

11. Which two characters said: "She's/is the strangest girl."

Answer: Owen and Giles

Giles calls Buffy a strange girl after she manages to squirm her way out of patrolling to go on a date with Owen: "So tonight's looking slow, right? Probably best to relax and regroup, no big disasters coming, that is *so* good, I will see you tomorrow then! Bye!"
Buffy is on her date with Owen when she is dragged away by her duties, and since she is not able to explain to Owen her superhero status, Owen calls her the "strangest girl."
12. "It was like the Heimlich, with stripes!"

Answer: Willow

Willow is describing to Buffy what it looks like when zebras mate in "The Pack." Buffy missed the show, but Willow and Xander caught the entire performance!
13. "I cannot believe that you, of all people, are trying to Scully me! There is something supernatural at work here."

Answer: Buffy

Great pop culture reference! Buffy is irritated that Giles is trying to dismiss her concerns for Xander in "The Pack." Giles is convinced that Xander's odd behavior is just a symptom of him becoming a 16 year old boy. They later find out that there is something supernatural at work in Xander; he's been possessed by the spirit of a vicious hyenna!
14. "I have seen some sick things in my life! Believe me! But this is beyond the pale!"

Answer: Principal Flutie

Principal Flutie is disgusted with the hyenna-possessed students, who just recently ate the school mascot, Herbert the pig. Principal Flutie soon finds himself in a similar situation, as he is eaten by the pack (minus Xander).
15. "I'd annihilate her."

The Master asks Colin (aka The Anointed One) what he would do to Buffy given the chance. This is his response, which appears in the episode "Angel." Spike kills Colin in Season Two by introducing him to Mr. Sunlight.
16. "You see how we all work together for the common good? That's how a family is supposed to function."
