Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Noah's craft

Answer: The Ark

First alluded to in "Halo 2", Master Chief and the Arbiter finally come across the Ark in this game. After prompting the remote activation sequence from the Delta Halo, the two have to head to the Ark and stop things once and for all. Of course, the Prophet of Truth is already en route.

The Ark is the seventh stage of the game and one of the last not to include battles against The Flood, probably because at this point the Gravemind is a fan of protecting itself, as we all are.
2. Predecessor

Answer: Forerunner

The Forerunners were an ancient race responsible for creating several constructs and weapons (including the Halos) thousands of years ago. The Forerunners allegedly wiped themselves out of the galaxy in an attempt to quell the Flood. Using the technologies they left behind, the Master Chief must put an end to the whole ordeal, stop the Gravemind from proliferating the race, and determine his origins.

Some examples of Forerunner tech include 343 Guilty Spark and the Sentinels (and their beams).
3. Immaculate shape

Answer: Pure Form

Pure Form is a variation of the Flood which has the ability to morph into stronger forms. These include three different versions including a Tank Form, a Ranged Form, and a Stalker Form. The first of these is perhaps the strongest and most powerful in combat; the second can shoot spikes out of its back from a distance; the third is a speedy, spider-like creature which sneaks in quite stealthily. Regardless, they all need to be wiped out; the last portion of the game contains a lot of them.
4. Sphere of Protection

Answer: Bubble Shield

One of a number of new, equipped items found in the game, the Bubble Shield is a device placed on stable ground to create a large sphere of protective energy. Used by Brutes and humans alike, you pick up the Bubble Shield with X and drop it when necessary to prevent projectiles from hitting you.

This, of course, only makes sense if the enemy isn't right next to you-- it won't work for anyone firing within the shield itself. There are about ten other new pieces of equipment to be found otherwise.
5. Large wasp

Answer: Hornet

The AV-14 Attack VTOL, better known as the Hornet, first appears in some of the larger-scale missions of "Halo 3". Using this, Master Chief is able to take to the skies and take out Covenant ships particularly with machine guns and missiles. The Hornet seems a bit more fragile than other vehicles, but it's a lesser Pelican; you'd use this more for dogfights and smaller transport.

The Hornet is the first human flying vehicle you can find in the series. The Covenant Banshee, on the other hand, has been usable since the first "Halo" game.
6. Onward towards daybreak

Answer: Forward Unto Dawn

The Forward Unto Dawn makes its first appearance in this game at the very end of the campaign. Escaping the Halo after the final battle with 343 Guilty Spark, the Master Chief and the Arbiter make it to this craft and take off, but not before the slipspace portal brings the Arbiter back to Earth, leaving Master Chief behind.

The Forward Unto Dawn (better known simply as 'The Dawn') returns in "Halo 4".
7. Downward force mallet

Answer: Gravity Hammer

Known in "Halo 2" as the Fist of Rukt, this large hammer was originally wielded by Brutes and packed a devastating blow when used against virtually anyone. In "Halo 3", it appears all the more since Brutes are in the forefront; the player can use it as they would an Energy Sword.

In fact, even though it's a melee, non-energy weapon, it still has ammo. This weapon is perfect for Flood-control, bashing vehicles, and oddly enough, pummeling the Brutes that wield them.
8. Water barricade

Answer: Floodgate

The sixth mission of the "Halo 3" campaign, Floodgate is set on Earth as the Flood (well...) break through. In this level you need to face off against a number of different Flood forms before reaching the vessel which brought them to the planet. As the stage comes to an end, Master Chief and the Arbiter will escape while the humans will wipe out the area, preventing the Flood from infecting the rest of the globe. Kinda the point. And they did it without needing a Halo!
9. Helicopter

Answer: Chopper

Sure, a helicopter could be considered a chopper, but in "Halo 3" the Chopper is a Brute-operated, single-occupant vehicle. Found in the more open levels of the game (you'd never really find one inside a building), especially those on the highways and in the cities of Africa, it has guns mounted on the sides and can run down virtually any ground enemy.

Heavy in the front and unprotected in the rear, the Chopper is no match for enemies flanking both sides, especially since it can't handle if you move side-to-side.
10. Blackbird home

Answer: Crows Nest

Crow's Nest is the third stage of the game (second excluding the 'Arrival' tutorial level). Taking place in Voi, it involves protecting an underground human base from the oncoming Flood forces who seek to destroy it and infiltrate the base of operations.

There's very little new to the level-- most of the enemies included are typical Covenant forces including Jackals, Drones, Grunts, and Elites. It is, however, a change from the outdoor jungle environment previously seen in the level Sierra 117.
