Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What mountain does Jack start next to in the game?

Answer: Mt. Epen

Having lived on Mt. Epen, Jack and his mentor discover that Chinaland has been invaded by a gang, and sets off to save Chinaland.

Later on, if you return to Mt. Epen, you'll discover that your mentor has seemingly disappeared.
2. The game features many towns. Which town is closest to the starting point in the game?

Answer: Hynen

Hynen is a fairly small town, but has all the necessities you'll need to start your quest. If in need of healing, you can stay at the hotel. You can buy weaponry at the weapons store, which has a symbol that looks like a fist on its roof. At the tool shop, you can buy food, jewelry and various miscellany.

You can save your game at the convenience store, where you'll receive a password allowing you to come back to the exact spot you were. This was rather revolutionary for the time, since many other hit NES games such as "Super Mario Bros" allowed no such save feature.
3. If you decide to play with two players, what ninja in blue joins you on your quest?

Answer: Ryu

This game was one of the first RPGs that allowed you to invite a friend along to play with you! While the first player will still control where you go on the overworld map, the second player will get to join in on the battles. You can bring in the second player by heading to the convenience store in any town, but you have to do this every time you turn on the game.
4. In the game, you must collect seven of what item?

Answer: Bells of Prism

The bells of prism come in seven different varieties: red, orange, yellow, green, dark blue, light blue and pink. The red bell of prism is given to you by your mentor at the start of the game; the other bells of prism are spread across in various places across the overworld. All seven are needed to finish the game.
5. What currency do you use to buy items?

Answer: Sen

Historically speaking, the currency sen has been used in Asian countries such as Cambodia, Indonesia and Japan.

Sen is needed to rest at a convenience store and buy items within the game. The least expensive item in the game is a sweet bun, costing only 10 sen. The most expensive item is the Prism Shield, which costs a whopping 4000 sen!
6. Who took over Deli-Chous?

Answer: Tub-A-Tummy

If you haven't played this game, you might able to surmise one thing about Tub-A-Tummy: he's REALLY fat. He pretends to be the mayor of Deli-Chous.

When Jack talks to him, he gives him a whole lot of food to eat, all of which looks very delectable. Alas, it is all just a drug that will knock you out. Once you've escaped from jail and found the Amulet-II, you'll be able to see through Tub-A-Tummy's disguise and defeat him.
7. What does the battery do?

Answer: Allow you to use the Dragstar

The Dragstar (a car) can be obtained at the Yoma Chateau, whilst the battery is only sold within a store in the city of Chatzy.

If you have both items, you can run around the world map faster and without being bothered by mobs of enemies! It's not overpowered though; just like a real battery, they don't last forever!
8. How can you get through the flames of the Fire Castle?

Answer: Call Leila

Before you can call Princess Leila, you'll need to have first rescued her from the evil Wil the Wiz. Jack gets a kiss from Leila in the process!

Calling Leila makes her show up and she removes the fire from around the castle. Notably, this is the only time where you have to call someone the entire game whilst outside of battle.

Princess Leila's name sounds similiar to Princess Leia from Star Wars. Is Princess Leila a parody of Princess Leia? Alas, we might never know.
9. What relation is Tenjin the Great to Jack?

Answer: His mentor

Surprise! Jack's mentor is actually some sort of heavenly being, living in the clouds. He gives you a Prism Sword, the most powerful weapon in the game, which fits nicely with the Prism Shield you can buy in the Mei-Tong District. In addition, your mentor will finally allow you to access Mt. Cone-Rum, where the final boss awaits...
10. Who is the final boss?

Answer: King Gulp

King Gulp is incredibly obese. He's also one of the few bosses that you don't fight in an action setting. You have unlimited time to decide whether to attack, use an item or attempt to dodge. But if you do get hit by King Gulp, he will likely attack you several times, doing a large sum of damage. He's not an easy boss!
