Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these is found in The Den?

Answer: Traders and trainers

The Den, located within the Valley of Trials, is one of the first areas in the game containing a one-stop shopping area for all needs. The Valley of Trials, of course, is the starting location for both Trolls and Orcs (on the Horde side). Many starting quests for both players and their respective professions, from levels 1 to 5, can commence here. Only one exit takes players out of the Valley of Trials, but enclosed within are a number of low-level enemies for any starting class.

The Burning Blade Coven, a cave of slightly more dangerous creatures, can be found for one of the more important starting quests of the class.
2. Which of these locations is found south of the Valley of Trials?

Answer: Kolkar Crag

As players advance and step foot outside the Valley of Trials, the real-world dangers begin to strike. One such danger is the Kolkar tribe found in the crag south of the Valley. The quest Thwarting Kolkar Aggression is given to you by Lar Prowltusk in the nearby village and this will result in your needing to travel to the Kolkar Crag to retrieve battle plans and effectively bring a halt to their proposed actions.
The three remaining selections are all north of Razor Hill.
3. Which location found to the southeast of Sen'Jin Village contains Voodoo Trolls?

Answer: Echo Isles

For characters still under level 10, Echo Isles contains a small village amongst its chain of small islands filled with Durotar Tigers and Voodoo Troll creatures. Swimming is necessity between the mainland and the islands. Sen'Jin Village is a small town off the beaten path which runs between the Valley of Trials and Razor Hill to the north. Located on the southeast coast of Durotar, it's the first chance for players to begin their training in certain professions and with specific spells and skill trainers. Additionally, certain mounts can be obtained here from some of the traders, but not until you reach the proper level.
4. Populated by Kul Tiras forces, Tiragarde Keep is a Horde outpost.

Answer: False

Tiragarde Keep is one of the few locations in Durotar containing Alliance forces and while it doesn't seem to pose much of a threat for the massive city of Orgrimmar to the north or even the smaller outpost of Razor Hill, it is necessary for early Horde players.

The Admiral's Orders, a quest obtained by finding the actual written orders within the Keep, takes players into Tiragarde to defeat the Kul Tira army and their leader, Admiral Proudmoore. This quest chain, once more, will ultimately lead players to Orgrimmar for further instructions. To the east of Tiragarde Keep, players can find the ship-laden reefs of Scuttle Coast, and beyond that, the Great Sea.
5. Razor Hill contains which of these?

Answer: A barracks

Razor Hill is the second outpost on the new player checklist (departing from the Valley of Trials) and it contains many different NPCs existing to hand out early quests. The barracks sits on the east part of the town and it contains many different class trainers (excluding a mage trainer since there's one in Sen'Jin Village anyways). The city sits in the road between the Valley of Trials to the south, Orgrimmar to the north, and a new zone to the west.
The quests found here are designed for players to advance to level 10 before they proceed with their journeys.
6. Thrall can be found in which region of Orgrimmar?

Answer: The Valley of Wisdom

Found in the far north of Durotar, Orgrimmar is one of the major hubs for any Horde player (like the Undercity). This expansive city houses almost everything a Horde player needs from trainers to traders to banks and more. Split into six regions, the city allows for fairly accessible services. Outside the city, zeppelin flight paths take players to Tirisfal Glades and the Undercity on the Eastern Kingdoms as well as Grom'Gol Base Camp and Warsong Hold.

Many of the Kalimdor flight paths run through the center of the city. Thrall, the leader of the city, is found in Grommash Hold in the Valley of Wisdom.

His influence on many of the quests in the game is apparent from the get-go.
7. Which of these are you least likely to find in Durotar?

Answer: Prairie Dog

The tiny animals of the world do play small roles in the game though only a few different ones will appear in their native lands. Hares and adders can be found throughout Durotar's expansive barren lands while swine can be found in pens at Tor'Kren Farm and at a few locations just outside the gates at Orgrimmar.

While one can see any prairie dogs owned by other players at any location in the game, prairie dogs are not native to Durotar. Despite this, you can purchase one of your own as a pet from a dealer in Thunder Bluffs (the Tauren homeland) in Mulgore in Kalimdor. Prairie dogs also appear in the wild in the Barrens, Mulgore, and Westfall.
8. Which of these locations is a nesting ground for harpies?

Answer: Razorwind Canyon

Although Razorwind Canyon is rarely the spot for importance in Durotar, its nature is quite obscure in comparison with the rest of the area. Unlike the other enemies (mostly ground-dwelling, natural creatures) in Durotar, this area is plagued by Harpies nesting in and among the canyon walls.

The quest Winds in the Desert, given by Rezlak just south of Orgrimmar, takes players into the canyon to collect sacks of supplies while his other quest, Securing the Lines, takes players to kill more of these Dustwind creatures at Drygulch Ravine.
9. Which region is to the west of Durotar?

Answer: The Barrens

Heading due west from Razor Hill along the beaten path, you'll eventually come across a bridge over the Southfury River. Crossing this will designate your crossing the border between Durotar and the next phase of the game, The Barrens, a level 10 to 25 area for early players of the game and a natural choice for where to proceed for starting Orc and Troll players who commenced the game in the Valley of Trials. Immediately across the bridge is Far Watch Post, but taking the various paths through the Barrens you'll come across the Crossroads, Ratchet, and Camp Turajo, all of which contain flight path connections for Wind Riders.

The Barrens is typically a neutral zone.
10. What is the name of the dungeon found within the Cleft of Shadow in Orgrimmar?

Answer: Ragefire Chasm

Ragefire Chasm, typically known in the game as 'RFC' is found in the lowest portion of Orgrimmar, the Cleft of Shadow, and it's one of the easiest instances of the game. Although quests for it can be found in the Undercity, Orgrimmar, and Thunder Bluffs, all of them relate to pick-ups found within the dungeon and the bosses within.

The area is filled with Searing Blade forces and rogue Troggs. Due to the nature of this instance, players only need to be at level 8 in order to walk inside, so even players who started in the Valley of Trials will likely be able to visit it if they're on their first trip to Orgrimmar.
