Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Marshal's Refuge is an Alliance-centric city; Horde players can not enter.

Answer: False

Marshal's Refuge, found directly in the center of the northern cliff face of Un'Goro Crater, is the only town in the entire zone and the only flightpath location in Un'Goro (though its accessibility is quite limited). The area is neutral, run by a relatively small group of different species.

There are only two vendors here- everyone else is a quest-giving NPC. To emphasize the remoteness of both the town and the zone, there is no inn in Marshal's Refuge, and thus no Hearthstone option. Some of the characters found here are the only ones to be found in the entirety of the zone.
2. A number of Power Crystals can be found scattered around Un'Goro Crater's explorable areas. Which is not a colour of crystal you can find?

Answer: White

Aside from Red, Yellow, and Blue Power Crystals, Green ones can be found as well. There is no specific place which allows for a greater recovery of these collectible objects, but players on the search can find them in generally every location in the Crater, characterized by their obvious glow. J. D. Collie in Marshal's Refuge is the only one in the area to have any fascination with the various crystals picked up around the zone, and this ties in with the three Power Pylons in the different cliff walls of Un'Goro. Only seven of each of the four coloured crystals needs to be returned to this NPC for the 'Crystals of Power' quest to be finished.
3. One quest in the Lakkari Tar Pits requires that you acquire which of these from Tar Beasts?

Answer: Super Sticky Tar

The 'Super Sticky' quest is obtained from the NPC goblin in Gadgetzan (in Tanaris) known as Tran'Rek. For this quest, players must head to Lakkari Tar Pits in the north end of Un'Goro Crater (near Marshal's Refuge) and defeat Tar Beasts, Tar Lurkers, Tar Creepers, and Tar Lords to retrieve twelve samples of Super Sticky Tar off their corpses.

Although tar is typically much more dangerous to wade through in real life, players may find themselves swimming (and seeing through) the tar pits found here without any side effects that you'd expect (ie. slowing).

The Tar Pits span a large area, so players should have trouble (if running solo) finding the right enemies to kill.
4. What is the name of the friendly Kodo in Marshal's Refuge who eats a native plant species?

Answer: Dadanga

Dadanga is an optional quest-giver in Marshal's Refuge who is simply asking for a little bit of food. Obtaining fifteen Bloodpetal Sprouts and giving this to Dadanga will convince her to give you a small reward for Alchemy players. The recipe for the Elixir of Brute Force (which requires Gromsblood, Plaguebloom, and a Crystal Vial) will be yours when you open the Small Brown-Wrapped Package given to you by this friendly creature. If you happen to lose your copy of the recipe, you can retrieve a second copy (or any successive copies) by feeding Dadanga an additional fifteen Bloodpetal Sprouts.
5. Which of these Dinosaur creatures does not appear in Un'Goro Crater?

Answer: Gundrak Raptor

While many different variations of Pterrordax, Ravasaur, and Stegodon can be found throughout the majority of Un'Goro Crater's contained ecosystem, the Grundak Raptor is an elite raptor beast found solely in Zul'Drak (a "Wrath of the Lich King" location).

This creature is usually in the mid-level-70 range. Many of the quests obtained at one of the entrances to Un'Goro Crater and those found at Marshal's Refuge will require you to kill these large beasts and claim certain collectible pieces from them. Also included in this "Jurassic Park" zone are the Devilsaur and the Diemetradon, both of which have their own variations as well. You may find some of these creatures to be elite.
6. Gorishi Tunnelers, Reavers, and Stingers can be found in which location?

Answer: The Slithering Scar

Found in the southeast corner of Un'Goro Crater, you can find The Slithering Scar, a rather bleak, unforested cave area containing insect enemies known as Gorishi. These, including the large-shelled Tunnelers, the flying Stingers, and the poisonous Reavers, will make your time in the cave ever-so memorable. One Tanaris quest from Gadgetzan, 'Pawn Captures Queen', brings you into the cave to lure and destroy the Gorishi Hive Queen, taking her brain and returning it to the quest NPC, Alchemist Pestlezugg, for a reward.

The 'Alien Ecology' quest, on the other hand, brings you into the cave to get a single sample of the hive walls for research purposes.
7. What is the name of the character found in a cave on Fire Plume Ridge?

Answer: Ringo

Located on a mountainous region in the center of Un'Goro Crater, Fire Plume Ridge is quite the actively volcanic location. Players won't be too shocked to find Living Blazes and Scorching Elementals surrounding and atop the cliffs here using fire magic to ward off foes. Luckily, certain quests require the collection of Un'Goro Ash which only drops off these enemies. Ringo can be found in a cave in the middle of the mountain about halfway up its side. Spraggle Frock in Marshal's Refuge will give you the 'Lost!' quest to find Ringo, and you'll need to complete the escort quest 'With a Little Help From My Friends' to bring him back to town. Ringo will probably get exhausted along the way. Make sure you can revive him if he faints! It'll happen more than once.
8. What is the name of the highest-level elite found in Terror Run?

Answer: Gruff

Gruff is both elite and rare, making it quite difficult for all players to find this dinosaur in the Stegadon family. Although most of the creatures found in Terror Run are elite to begin (and huge, to boot) players may find the most difficult challenge in Un'Goro Crater in the form of Gruff. No quests particularly lead you to this boss, but once found and defeated, he'll have a chance of dropping the green-ranked Gruffscale Leggings for players who use leather armor. Terror Run is found in the southern-most region of Un'Goro Crater below Fire Plume Ridge.
9. Which zone borders Un'Goro Crater to the west?

Answer: Silithus

Only two zones directly connect to Un'Goro Crater, allowing players on foot to access its dinosaur-infested regions. Players of lower levels will access it (on most occasions) from Tanaris for the first time, heading southwest from Gadgetzan through Thistleshrub Valley and heading straight into the eastern cliffs of Un'Goro Crater. Crossing the zone and heading west, players will eventually come across the opening in the cliff wall to access the higher-level area, Silithus, which is meant for players from level 55 to 60 (making it one of the highest non-expansion zones in the game). Following the path from Un'Goro Crater into Silithus will take you directly to the main town of the zone, Centarion Hold.
10. Un'Goro Crater contains no instanced dungeons.

Answer: True

Although Un'Goro Crater does not contain any instances for players, Tanaris to the east contains the temple ruins known as Zul'Farrak in its northwest corner (for level 42-46 players). As well, Silithus to the west contains the Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj and the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj in its far south, both of which require the player to be between level 60 and 70. To enter both, you need to pass through the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj. Nonetheless, Un'Goro Crater is a fairly straightforward 'in between' area which can be used to level in or bridge the gap between Centarion Hold and Gadgetzan. If you find yourself going along too easily, you may wish to run through Terror Run anyways.
