So I'm mostly creating this to see what teams everyone cheers for, whether it be Major League, Minor, Frontier, College, High School, you kid's team, or anything else you can think of. Also creating this to discuss the MLB season so far and predictions for the end of the season.

So I'm a Reds fan. They're my favorite team with my favorite players. I do have mixed loyalties though, which make things a bit complicated. I'm from Ohio and we have two MLB teams, a AAA team, and quite a few other minor league teams thrown in.

Being from Central Ohio I grew up a Columbus Clippers fan. When I was a kid they were affiliated with the NY Yankees, but I don't like the Yankees because my family hails from Boston. Because we're Bostonians I also can't root for the Cleveland Indians, which is the Clippers's current MLB affiliated team...Being a Clippers fan though, I can't cheer for the Louisville Bats, the Red's AAA affiliate, so I'm really all messed up... :) I do cheer for 1 Yankee, 1 Indian, and 1 Bat, however, to screw things up even more....oh, and 1 Chicago Cub.

Overall, this season, feeling very good about the Reds, and feeling very sorry for the Houston Astros...who I'm pretty sure are now guaranteed a losing season :(

So how about you all?

No "untuck" for Rafael Soriano tonight. Brandon Moss with a game-tying HR in the 9th. It's as if the Yankees have bought some bad karma over the last month and a half. I wonder what happened?

Russell Martin with a walk-off HR to win it, and keep the Stripers in first. Woo-hoo!

Greatguggly The Nats have clinched the first playoff appearance for a DC baseball team since the Senators in 1933. Because of a scheduling quirk this year, even if they finish with the best record in the NL they may have to start the playoffs on the road. Figures.

First in War, First in Peace, and Lat in the American League...but the Nats are in the National League! Woo-hoo! Tim Russert would be stoked!

The Mets are puting on a late season charge...too bad they couldn't do that when it counted a few years back

triviaking162 Congrats to RA Dickey for getting 20 wins! Just a great story, for a team who didn't have much to cheer for about the second half of the season.

RA for NL Cy Young!

The Miami Marlins signed Adam Greenberg to a one day contract to get him an AB. Adam Greenberg was a Cubs prospect who was beaned in his first MLB AB, and he never was credited for that AB. It's really a great story. NBC Nightly News just did a feature on it.

Greatguggly I saw that on NBC. I'm surprised I hadn't heard about it before. Didn't they say that it was the very first pitch even? That's incredible. Don't know who the pitcher was but I'd be willing to bet he never apologized or said anything. Not that it was necessarily intentional but geez....have a heart.

HOMER BAILEY AND THE CINCINNATI REDS NO HIT THE PIRATES!!! First time since a Perfect Game in 1988!!

Greatguggly In football you always see members of the opposing team at checking on an injured player and showing at least some concern. Lawrence Taylor jumping up and down and waving to the Skins bench after he snapped Theismann's leg comes to mind. Why do baseball pitchers or catchers and the rest of the team just ignore it when a guy gets drilled like that?

I think it's Adam Greenberg's beaning. Nobody really reacted when it happened.

On the no-hitter. Wasn't Tom Browning the last Red? I think it was a prefect game. I still remember when he snuck out of the dugout, and was spotted in uniform at one of the rooftop bleachers across Waveland Avenue during the game! This was at Wrigley, of course. Davey Johnson wound up fining him $500 for that. It still makes me laugh!

Yes, it was Browning. "First time since a Perfect Game in 1988!!"

Homer was very close to a perfect game, facing just two batters over the minimum. E5 and a BB.

Horrible scene in Atlanta right now.

The worst infield fly rule call I have seen in my life has the fans littering the field with trash now.

The ball is 50 feet into the outfield and the left field umpire made the call, the Braves got robbed on that play, really bad.
