      lighthouse. A lighthouse stands guard right where you enter the park.

    Which sea animal is NOT seen here?Sea World Orlando

      cuttlefish. The little relative to the squid and octopus isn't seen here, but the others on the list, and such critters as penguins, polar bears sea lions et al. are on display at Sea World year round.

    Which theatre here is named after a sea shell?Sea World Orlando

      Nautilus. Pectins are in the scallop family (Shell Oil uses the scallop for its logo). Murexes were once harvested for the purple dye they produce. Wentletraps get their name from the Dutch for staircase. Nautilus gets its name from the Greek for sailor.

    What is the name of Sea World's splash ride?Sea World Orlando

      Journey to Atlantis. The ride is patterned after the sunken kingdom of Greek legend and is based on ancient Greek architecture. If you want to stay dry, you can visit the adjacent Jewels Of the Sea aquarium.

    There is also a giant roller coaster that goes partly into underground aquariums. What mythical creature is it named after?Sea World Orlando

      Kraken. The last I got from the Doctor Doolittle stories! The Kraken was the sea serpent of Norse myth. We didn't ride it, but my brothers and I saw the great coaster. (Scylla is from Greek mythology.)

      paddle boats. The paddle boats there are in the form of flamingos, unlike Boston's renowned Swan Boats!

      Pets Ahoy. A cute show where the dogs and cats (they don't fight!) perform skits and stunts, such as tightrope walking and acrobatics on a stage dressed as a seaside village.

    Clyde and Seamore are the leads in a comedy show. What is Seamore?Sea World Orlando

      sea lion. With his human co-star Clyde, Seamore acts in the show "Pirate Island," a spoof of all those pirate yarns in print and film.

    What creature is Shamu, the park's superstar?Sea World Orlando

      killer whale. Pretty much a gimme, since Shamu is world renowned. People come to see him, and his fellow killer whales, peform and splash those closest to the pool.

    What is the only land mammal raised in the park?Sea World Orlando

      Clydesdale horses. Anheuser-Busch, brewers of Budweiser, is the owner of Sea World and they raise some of their famous Clydesdales in the park. Next to the stable is a brewing exhibit where you can larn how to brew beer and a restaurant where you can drink it!

    I enter the park and make a beeline for the back, where Sea World's two major rides are located. I see a huge roller coaster in front of me - and it's floorless! What is the name of this beast?Sea World Orlando Adventure Park

      Kraken. Kraken is the tallest, fastest and only floorless roller coaster in all of Orlando! It features seven loops, reaches speeds of 65 mph, and is as high as a 15-story building. This ride is not to be missed.

    After a coaster ride, my adrenaline is flowing! I see a sign for a ride called "Journey to Atlantis." What kind of a ride is this?Sea World Orlando Adventure Park

      Water flume ride. Journey to Atlantis is a water flume ride based on ancient Greek mythology. While taking a boat tour through a temple, you anger the Goddess. She takes control of your boat and sends you careening down a flume, 60 feet straight down.

    I need to take a break to stop my knees from shaking after riding rides. I head over to Pacific Point Preserve, where I can watch animals from California in their natural habitat. What animals are featured here?Sea World Orlando Adventure Park

      Sea lions and harbor seals. The 2-acre Pacific Point Preserve re-creates the rocky coast of California for these beautiful animals. Visitors can watch the seals and sea lions swim, sleep and play with each other. For a small fee, you can even buy some fish to feed to the animals!

    I haven't had my fill of the animals at Pacific Point Preserve, and I hear they have their own show here at Sea World, called "Clyde and Seamore Take Pirate Island." Is this a comedy show? Sea World Orlando Adventure Park

      Yes. Clyde the sea lion and Seamore the harbor seal team up with their animal trainers in this hilarious show set on a pirate ship. The crew is searching for buried treasure somewhere on the ship, and it's up to Clyde and Seamore to find it. Don't miss the mime who opens the show!

    It's time for lunch. I head down to the waterfront area where I find a restaurant that specializes in my favorite Italian food. I can get this food with pepperoni, spinach, or just plain cheese. What am I eating?Sea World Orlando Adventure Park

      Pizza. Voyager's Wood Fired Pizza offers much more than just pies. You can also get chicken, fettuccini, salad, sandwiches and salmon!

    I'm a little tired after lunch, so I head for a wonderfully air-conditioned theater. I overhear the people in front of me saying that we're going to be seeing dogs, cats, birds and more. What show am I about to see?Sea World Orlando Adventure Park

      Pets Ahoy!. Pets Ahoy! features more than 100 animals performing tricks such as jumping, flipping, climbing, high-wire walking and more. Interestingly, nearly all of the animals used in the show were rescued from nearby animal shelters.

    Totally revived, I head across a wooden bridge towards a huge ampitheater. Am I going to see a concert? Of course not, this is Sea World. What star performs in a giant stadium?Sea World Orlando Adventure Park

      Shamu. Shamu the killer whale is Sea World's most famous mascot. Sea World names all of its killer whales in all of its parks Shamu, and they perform multiple shows each day. These shows are not to be missed!

    After getting soaked in the stadium, I decide to stick with something drier. Which show features circus-like performers and underwater special effects?Sea World Orlando Adventure Park

      Odyssea. Odyssea combines high-flying acrobatic performances, whimsical costumes, dramatic music and fantastic special effects within a beautiful set themed like an underwater world. This show is not to be missed and is a true highlight of the day.

    I check my watch and can't believe it's already time for dinner! I heard a rumor that it is possible to dine up close and personal with Shamu! Is this true?Sea World Orlando Adventure Park

      yes. For an extra fee, you can enjoy VIP treatment on Shamu's personal poolside patio. After enjoying a delicious dinner, Shamu's trainers will provide a backstage tour and opportunities for up close photos of Shamu.

    I only have time to see one more exhibit before the park closes, and I want to see more animals. Which "gentle giant" endangered species does Sea World care for and raise in their park before sending them back into the Florida wild?Sea World Orlando Adventure Park

      Manatees . The Manatee Rescue is a type of "halfway house" for injured and sick manatees. Sea World personnel nurse these animals back to health before releasing them back into their natural habitats. Visitors can view the manatees from above and below the water to get the best view.
