August 2nd, 1776. It was endorsed by Continental Congress on July 4th, 1776 with copies sent to all the colonies. On July 19th Congress ordered it be "Engrossed on Parchment and signed by every member of Congress". That did not happen until August 2nd.

They united the Colonies against Great Britain. Drafted in 1774, The articles were a petition of grievances against the British "Intolerable Acts". It also paved the way for the Declaration of Independence by imposing economic sanctions against the crown in an attempt to force Britain to repeal or modify the acts without severing its relationship with England.
