Beautiful. He appears in a cameo as one of Mr. Hand's students. A springboard for several up and coming actors, "Fast Times" starred Sean Penn, Judge Reinhold, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Phoebe Cates, Robert Romanus, Brian Becker and Ray Walston. Also starring in smaller roles were Forest Whitaker, Eric Stoltz, Nicolas Cage, and Anthony Edwards. Directed by Amy Heckerling, the movie was released in 1982.

Timecop. Mia Sara, Ron Silver, Gloria Rueben and Bruce McGill also starred in "Timecop", from 1994. I'm not a Van Damme fan, but I enjoyed this movie. The TV series "Timecop", which aired in 1997, had time traveller Jack Logan going back to stop rogue time travellers whenever a ripple appeared. T.W. King played Jack Logan with a nice comic flair and we really enjoyed the few episodes we saw, but ABC kept moving it around the schedule and then cancelled it (the same thing NBC did to my beloved "Freaks and Geeks"). Oh well, time to get over it.

When Time Ran Out.... The last of the big-budget disaster movies by Irwin Allen, "When Time Ran Out...", from 1980, was nominated for an Oscar for Best Costume Design. The movie starred Jacqueline Bisset, William Holden, Burgess Meredith, Veronica Hamel, Ernest Borgnine, Edward Albert, Barbara Carrera, James Franciscus, Pat Morita, Red Buttons and Valentina Cortese.
The Glenn Miller Story. Glenn Miller is perhaps the best known bandleader from the early 1940s, and was responsible for such hits as "Chattanooga Choo Choo", "Pennsylvania 6-5000" and "In The Mood". After entering the military in 1942, Miller organized a service band, but died in 1944 after the plane he was travelling on disappeared over the English channel. June Allyson and Harry Morgan also starred in this 1953 biopic which featured Louis Armstrong, Frances Langford and Gene Krupa as themselves.
The Philadelphia Story. Katharine Hepburn played Tracy Lord, a socialite whose father is involved in a scandal on the eve of her wedding. Complicating things more is her ex-husband, C.K. Dexter Haven (Cary Grant), who shows up with a reporter (James Stewart) and a photographer (Ruth Hussey) to cover the scandal. Directed by George Cukor, this 1940 comedy won two Oscars, one for Best Actor for James Stewart, and one for Best Screenplay.
Love Story. Ryan O'Neal starred as Oliver, a wealthy Harvard student who falls in love with Jennifer (McGraw), a student from the wrong side of the tracks. The two marry against his family's wishes and are happy for a short time before Jennifer dies. Ray Milland and Tommy Lee Jones also starred in this 1970 movie. This overrated movie was nominated for seven Oscar awards, winning one for Best Original Score.

The NeverEnding Story. The movie was made in Germany by director Wolfgang Petersen, who also wrote the screenplay based on Michael Ende's book, "Die Unendliche Geschichte". The movie starred Barret Oliver, Noah Hathaway and Tami Stronach.
West Side Story. From 1961, "West Side Story" tells the tale of the Sharks and Jets battling for turf control in New York City. More conflict arises after Maria (Natalie Wood), the sister of the Shark's leader, Bernardo, falls in love with the leader of the Jets, Tony (Richard Beymer). The musical won ten Oscar awards, including Best Supporting Actor for George Chakiris (Bernardo), Best Supporting Actress for Rita Moreno, and Best Picture.
A Christmas Story. Set in the 1940s, "A Christmas Story" tells of Ralphie's desire to receive a BB gun for Christmas, despite the fact that most of the adults he encounters tell him that he'll shoot his eye out. Peter Billingsley played Ralphie, and Ian Petrella played his little brother, Randy. Their parents were played by Darren McGavin and Melinda Dillon.
Toy Story. Woody is the top toy in Andy's room, until Andy receives a new Buzz Lightyear doll for his birthday. Supplanted by Buzz as Andy's favorite toy, a jealous and desperate Woody accidentally pushes Buzz out of the window. In order to get back in the good graces of all of the other toys, Woody must find and bring back Buzz. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen voiced Woody and Buzz respectively. Other voices for the various toys were provided by Don Rickles, R. Lee Ermey, Jim Varney and John Ratzenberger. 1995's "Toy Story" was followed by a sequel in 1999.
Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. Peter La Fleur (Vince Vaughn) is the laid-back owner of Average Joe's Gym, who needs $50,000 to save his gym from foreclosure. Waiting to capitalize on Average Joe's imminent closure is rival gym owner White Goodman (Ben Stiller) from Globo Gym. The only hope for Average Joe's is to win a Las Vegas dodgeball tournament. Written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, this comedy also starred Christine Taylor, Rip Torn, Jason Bateman and Hank Azaria.
The Story of Us. Bruce Willis and Michelle Pfeiffer play Ben and Katie Jordan, an argumentative couple who have become incompatible after fifteen years of marriage and two children. They try to maintain a united front for their children, but decide to separate. Rob Reiner directed and also starred as Bruce Willis's friend, Stan. Rita Wilson, Julie Hagerty, Paul Reiser and Tim Matheson also starred in this 1999 romantic drama.
The Buddy Holly Story. From 1978, "The Buddy Holly Story" also starred Charles Martin Smith, Don Stroud and Conrad Janis. Gary Busey was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Buddy Holly. The movie also received two other nominations, winning one Oscar for Best Score.
