Marvin Gaye and Jackie Wilson. Marvin Gaye was killed by his father on April 1, 1984. Jackie Wilson fell while performing in 1975, hitting his head on stage and falling in to a coma. Jackie never regained conciousness and died 8 years later in January 1984. This beautiful song by the Commodores is a tribute to these two stars.
