All The Man That I Need. "All The Man That I Need", written by Dean Pitchford and Michael Gore (who wrote the song "Fame"), was first recorded by Sister Sledge featuring David Simmons. It appeared on their 1982 release, "The Sisters". Of course, Whitney's version, which was more dramatic, hit #1. The song can also be found on the Sister Sledge CD "The Essentials".
In 1981 Sister Sledge released the LP "All American Girls". Narada Michael Walden and the sisters produced this much-anticipated recording.
