Northern Illinois Huskies
Michael Turner. Turner rushed for over 1000 yards in each of his starting years, and because of this was nicknamed Michael "the Burner" Turner. He also had his own hot sauce in DeKalb restaurants.
Dan Sheldon. He was drafted by the 49ers in 2005 but released shortly before the season began.
t. He lead the team to a 4-6-1 record and left after one year.
Garrett Wolfe. Wolfe was injured and missed two games. Despite this, he still finished 5th in the nation in yards rushing.
Randee Drew. He was ranked first in interceptions in NIUs history.
f. It was freshman Andy Dittbenner.
t. He began coaching at NIU in 1995, and despite having a losing steak of 23 games at one point in his career, from 2000 and on with him, the Huskies had a record of over .500 and went to the 2005 Silicon Valley Bowl where they defeated Troy.
The MAC (Mid-American). They joined the MAC in 1997 and established rivalries with Toledo and Ball State.
Nebraska. It took overtime to beat Maryland, but NIU sealed the deal with an interception from Randee Drew on Maryland's first possession.
