 Final Fantasy
"To Zanarkand". The opening scene in "Final Fantasy X" is actually happening near the end of the game. The whole story till that moment is told by Tidus (the main character) in the past, giving the player the idea that he (Tidus) has already gone through all that. Putting it simple, the whole game, until that moment, is just a flashback.

Laguna Loire. Julia said that he inspired her to write it. The song talks about the love Laguna and Julia felt for each other and that none of them had the courage to admit. He then had to go to war and they never saw each other again. Squall is the main character in "Final Fantasy VIII"; Cid is Edea's husband, and Irvine had a crush on Selphie.
Julia Heartilly. Rinoa is Julia's daughter, and the song was written before Selphie was even born.

Nobuo Uematsu. Anyone who has played "Final Fantasy" should know this one. He composed songs in all the games of the series. Cloud Strife is the main character in "Final Fantasy VII", and the other two are from the TV series "Final Fantasy Unlimited".
Rikki. Faye Wong sang "Eyes on Me", and Emiko Shiratori sang "Melodies of Life".
Kuja. Kuja is a genome created by Garland and went insane when finding out he will soon die. Kuja met his match against Zidane and wanted to die inside the Ilfa Tree. However, Zidane saved him during the ending.

Cecil. Cecil was working for a dark force. He had dark powers but eventually, he had to give up these powers and become a paladin.
Banon. Baron is an old man who is one of the important members of the Returners. He sailed down a river with Terra, Edgar and Sabin to free a town.

He met a woman and they had a child called Butz (Or Bartz).

Tidus. Yu Yevon was a summoner from Zanarkand who created Sin. Once Sin and Yu Yevon was destroyed, all the fayth who have been dreaming of a Dream Zanarkand will vanish, as will their creations including Tidus and Jecht.
Edea's Orphanage. During the game, Irvine is re-united with childhood friends Squall, Zell, Quistis and Selphie. As Irvine is the only character not familiar with Guardian Forces, his memories didn't fade and he remembers the fun he and the others had as children.
Edward/Gilbert. Edward almost lost his life when the boat he was on was attacked by Leviathan. He was in bed injured and he wanted to save Tellah, Cecil and the others so he could prove his worth.
Steiner. Steiner always had Princess Garnet's best interests at heart, and didn't want her to be with the thief Zidane. Eventually, Zidane and Steiner began to trust each other and towards the end of the game, he gave Zidane his blessing to be with Garnet, and even wanted to help him save his brother.
Yang. Yang is a warrior monk who travelled with Cecil, Rosa and the others. He was on a boat attacked by Leviathan and was found in Baron and attacked Cecil. Yang came to his senses and at the game became king of his kingdom.
Dyne. It is believed that Barret is Marlene's father throughout the game, but when Barret meets his old friend it is announced that Dyne is the father of Marlene.
Paine. Paine was a recorder for Nooj, Gippal and Baralai when they were training to be in the Crimson Squad. The four of them were wanted by Bevelle soldiers, and went their seperate ways. The four wanted to stay friends, but Nooj shot Paine, Gippal and Baralai.

Jecht. Jecht is Tidus' father. Auron is one of your allies. Seymour is a maester of Yevon and a bad guy. Yunalesca is in Zanarkand and transforms one of a summoners guardians into Sin. Jecht sacrifices himself in Zanarkand when Braska is there so that he can destroy Sin. They know that Jecht will be the next Sin so the cycle never ends. This is why Yuna fights Yunalesca instead of sacrificing a guardian.
