The French and Indian War is also known as what, internationally?

    The Seven Years' War. This war lasted from 1754-1763 in America and from 1756-1763 in Europe and India. It established Col. George Washington as a military commander. In September, 1759, British and American forces captured Quebec, thus ending the war. The Treaty of Paris 1763 gave the Britsh all of France's North American possessions east of the Mississippi.

How many colonists died in the Boston Massacre?
    5. March 5, 1770, Bostonians began pelting British soldiers with snowballs. A shot rang out, followed by another. Eleven colonials were hit, five died. Future president John Adams defended the soldiers. All but two, who had their hands branded, were acquitted.

The first engagement took place in the Battles of Concord and Lexington. Which side suffered more casualties?
    The British. On April 19th, 1775, British forces under the command of Genereal Gage were ordered to take munitions stored at Concord. American forces were waiting at Lexington and "the shot heard round the world" started the war. Gage pushed on to Concord and suffered more than 200 casualties compared to less than 100 American.

Which state did not initially sign the Declaration of Independence?
    New York. In June of 1776, Congress appointed a committee to work on the document. In this committee were John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman and Robert Livingston and Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson was the main author. On July 4, 1776 the Declaration of Independence was signed by all states except New York which abstained at the time, but signed it later.

What town was Washington going to attack by crossing the Delaware river?
    Trenton. On Christmas night, 1776, Washington led his men across the frozen river to surprise the Hessian mercernaries who were fighting for the British. The Hessians suffered more than 100 casualties with almost 1,000 being captured. The Americans suffered only 4!

Which military leader was not at the Battle of Saratoga?
    Washington. September 13 through October 13, 1777, the British under General Burgoyne were marching towards Albany. They were meet by Americans under General Gates. Benedict Arnold and Alexander Hamilton were under his command. They pushed the redcoats back to Saratoga where a quarter of the British forces in all of the colonies surrendered. After this vicory, the French started backing the Americans.

Which ship did the Bonne Homme Richard defeat in battle?
    HMS Serapis. On September 23, 1779, the vastly out gunned Bonne Homme Richard was approached by the HMS Serpasi. The Serpasi's captain asked Captain John Paul Jones to surrender. Jones uttered his now famous "Surrender be damned, I have not yet begun to fight!"

Which fort was Benedict Arnold in command of when he was caught as a traitor?
    West Point. On September 25, 1780, British spy, Major Andre was captured. On his person were documents which showed Arnold's intentions of turning over West Point for money and a position as a general. Benedict Arnold died in England in 1801.

In the last battle of the war, Lord Cornwalis surrendered at Yorktown because he was caught between the French and American infantry and French navy.
    t. Arriving in Petersburg in May of 1781, Cornwalis went to Yorktown to build a naval yard on conflicting orders. Washington pursued him and the French fleet blocked the harbor, forcing the British to surrender.

Which founding father was not involved in the peace treaty?
    Thomas Jefferson. The Treaty of Paris 1783 was signed on September 3. Franklin, Adams, and Jay, negotiatied with the British who recognized the United States of America from the the great lakes south to Florida and as far west as the Mississippi.
