Missouri and Iowa State. Before the 1959 game, it was discovered that the phones for the coaches to communicate with their coaches in the press box were wired so the teams could hear what the other side's coaches were saying. The trophy depicts an old rotary telephone (painted half yellow for Missouri and half red for ISU) on a wooden base.

Alabama and Auburn. This trophy started in 1948 and is awarded at the home basketball game of the winning school. It is presented by the president of the school's Omicron Delta Kappa honor society chapter (hence the ODK of the trophy's name).

Nevada and UNLV. This trophy series began in 1969. The trophy is a replica of a 19th century Howitzer cannon that accompanied John C. Fremont on an expedition into what is now the state of Nevada.

TCU and SMU. The trophy dates back to the 1950s when during pre-game festivities (tailgating), a SMU fan was frying some frog legs. A TCU fan proposed that the fan (between the two) of the team that won the game get to keep the pan and eat the frog legs. The SMU fan agreed and lost his pan when TCU was victorious.

Air Force, Army and Navy. One of the more famous trophies, the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy is awarded to the academy that beats both the other two academies. If each team wins one of the two games, the team that won the trophy the previous year keeps it.
Which in-state rivalry winner is awarded the Golden Egg? |
Mississippi and Mississippi State. The "Egg Bowl" is between Ole Miss and Mississippi State. The trophy is known as such because the football on the trophy is a replica of an older football, which resembled an egg more than that of a modern oblong football.
