Special Sub-Topic: Is "Bluehead" a Word?

Which is NOT a real word?

homebug. A homebody is someone who likes to stay home most of the time.

Which isn't a word in the English language?
blackcat. "Black cat" is a common phrase, but it is two words, not one. To blackball someone from a group or club is to vote that person out. Playgrounds are sometimes covered with blacktop. "Bootblack" is an old-fashioned word for a worker who polishes, or blacks, people's shoes and boots.

Which is a made-up compound word?
playpup. It can be fun to make up compound words. How about catjump, dogbowl, or ratblanket?

Which is not a real compound word?
pinpot. A pushpin does the same job as a thumbtack. People use pincushions to hold straight pins for sewing.

Which is not a real word?
forkspoon. Farmers use pitchforks to move piles of hay. A forklift is a vehicle that lifts heavy loads and carries them from place to place.

Find the made-up compound word.
daysleep. I guess a nap could be called a daysleep.

Which is not in an English dictionary?
firespider. Even though firespider is not a word, there is a Native American folktale about a grandmother spider who brings fire to humans. I think there is a character called "Firespider" in a videogame, too.

Which is not a real compound word?
greentable. An evergreen tree stays green all year long. Pool tables often have green felt covers, but they aren't called greentables.

Which is not a real compound word?
inkwood. Oboes, flutes, and English horns are woodwind instruments. Oak and cherry are hardwoods, while pine is a soft wood. Inkwood could be a made-up synonym for "ebony," the name of a very dark wood.

This is a different kind of question. Which two words CAN be put together to form a compound word that is in English dictionaries?
case and pillow. It's fun to make up compounds. For example, you can use pink, wood, house, red, pillow, worm, green, big, flat, and head to make up pinkpillow, flathouse, and bigworm. Greenhouse and flatworm are real compound words. If you send me your made-up compounds, I will type them in this box. One player made up "fatcat."
