    pakeha.

The dairy is:

When someone asks you for a rubber, don't be shocked. Just give them your:
eraser. A wonderful woman who had just returned from Canada warned me about this (and some other terms) just after I arrived in New Zealand. Thanks, Christine!

If you're at a Wharenui, where are you?
a meeting house. You take your shoes off before entering the Wharenui, and do not step over other people. There’s no eating or drinking (although feeding babies is allowed) inside. The Wharenui is supposed to be a peaceful gathering place, so there is not supposed to be any fighting or arguing inside it. Here’s a picture of a Wharenui http://northonline.sccd.ctc.edu/christen/NZ.newmeethouse.html

What are you doing when you take a tiki tour?
Taking the roundabout route to your destination. Waikato beer is named for the area is it made in. The Waikato area is on the northern island.

Zed is:

When asked to bring a plate, what should you arrive with?
a dish filled with food. During my first couple of months in New Zealand, I was invited to a Girl Guides function, and I was told to "bring a plate." I thought I was supposed to bring an empty dinner plate (I assumed it was an environmental way to not waste paper for plates!) Luckily, I was forewarned so I brought a food.

When you're invited for tea, what should you expect?
    a full meal.

What is a rug?
a lap robe. My grandma (living in NJ, USA) crocheted a blanket for the people I was staying with, and they sent her a thank you note for the beautiful rug. She was very upset until I returned and told her that the blanket was not being walked all over.

What is a kiwi?
a person from New Zealand. A kiwi is a person from New Zealand. A kiwi fruit is a piece of fruit. A kiwi bird is flightless and so it can't get to the top of the trees. This was a trick question :-)
