The episode began with Shannon reading a book down by the beach and Sayid came up to talk to her. From another angle, we saw Boone keeping a serious eye on both of them. Sayid told Shannon that he brought her a present and that present happened to be some sandals. He told her the present was for her helping him translate the papers he stole from Danielle Rousseau.

While Boone stared at Shannon and Sayid, he was interrupted by Hurley when Hurley said he had a question for him. Hurley asked him if he and Locke had been hunting boar every day and Boone asked him what he wanted to know. Hurley asked him why he and Locke were not coming back with any since they had not had fresh pork for about a week. Boone just reassured Hurley that he and Locke were hunting as best as they could.

Boone was in the flashbacks for this episode and the first one involved him playing a game of tennis. He was seen walking up some steps with a person he played it with that day and then he heard his cell phone ring. He answered it and Shannon was on the other line. Boone started hearing her scream at someone to get away from her so Boone told her to tell him where she was and he could come get her. Shannon told him she was in Sydney, Australia.

Boone saw Sayid down by the beach all alone so he went up to him and asked him to stay away from Shannon. Boone said it was simply a suggestion and that was when John Locke yelled out to him there were fresh animal tracks down by the stream. Boone decided to go with Locke but not before telling Sayid he would see him later.

As the opening credits rolled, Hurley saw Jack and said hello to him and then they started walking together through the jungle. Hurley asked Jack if anything he told him was doctor-patient confidentiality and Jack said it was. Hurley told him he was not feeling well so Jack asked him what the matter was. Hurley said it was his stomach and that he was having digestive issues. Jack asked him what he had been eating and Hurley replied by saying he had eaten bananas, papayas, mangoes, guava, passion fruit, and coconut.

After Hurley got done telling Jack what he was eating, Jack told him it would not hurt to add some protein into his diet but Hurley said he had low protein since they had not eaten boar for a while. Jack informed Hurley how he should eat some fish since Jin had been catching a lot. However, Hurley believed that Jin did not like him so he said he was hesitant about asking him for fish.

Jack and Kate were walking along in the jungle and they came upon Sun, who they saw was finishing off planting her garden. Kate said she saw Sun planting it one day while she was picking fruit. Jack told Sun that the garden looked beautiful and Sun smiled at him.

Mesure, born on August 12th, 1970 in Somerset, England guest starred as Bryan in this episode of "Lost." Bryan appeared in flashbacks as Shannon's boyfriend who she met down in Sydney, Australia. Mesure appeared in just this one episode for the series. He has also guest starred on the TV shows, "Without a Trace", "Cold Case", and "Las Vegas."

Midway through the episode, Kate was assisting Sun in planting her garden and she asked Sun if she found it hard to believe they had now been on the island for three weeks. Sun did not answer her so Kate told her she was on her way to Bali since she traveled a lot.

She said she was looking forward to exploring Bali and, while talking with Sun, Kate assumed that Sun understood English due to her facial expressions. Sun confirmed that she spoke English but asked Kate not to tell anyone.

Midway through the episode, Sayid and Jack were walking through the jungle and Sayid asked him which way he thought north was. Jack pointed out to Sayid where the sun would set and confirmed how that was west so he pointed in an opposite direction and assumed that was north. Sayid confirmed that is where north should have been but he pulled out his compass and pointed to a slightly different direction where north actually was.
