1. Garr and the Boss of Steel Beach hope to pull up a machine to prove that the party is strong enough to collect boat parts in the freighter. But what unfortunate object or creature do they end up reeling in instead?

They pull up something fishy... an Angler. Fighting this boss proves they really are strong, and thus can gather the parts they need! After gathering the necessary parts, Momo fixes the ship and on the return trip to Rhapala, the Black Ship, an abandoned self piloting ship is spotted. Whilst Zig tries to get the small boat to the Outer Sea, it's too hard for him. Zig then says he couldn't live up to the standard of the Legendary Mariner, who crossed the Outer Sea. Nina asks who that is, and Zig says it's an old legend. But he also adds perhaps the mayor of Parch knows who he is. At Parch, they find the old mayor, and the village lives on a staple diet on fish, but since the mayor got ill off some he doesn't want any. His assistant thinks maybe some Wyndian food could cheer him up? Feeding him shisu of any quality gets him to talk.

Although Mogu is with him, Gary is the one who actually sets the explosives. Unfortunately for Gary and Mogu, Ryu isn't too happy about it and singes them black. That's the end of those two. Thus begins the journey of our little dragon friend.

He has a parrot called Duan, who keeps him company. He informs Ryu, Momo and Nina he's actually a stowaway of the automated Black Ship. He's surprised the guild still call him the "Legendary Mariner". To board the Black Ship, Momo tries to shoot the ship with her bazooka, but it doesn't do anything and causes its defence system to shoot back, a narrow miss. She then thinks they should ram the ship and that is what they do - ram the Black Ship in the back, and board it heading for its bridge. After they reach it, prana emits from Ryu once more reminding them of their trip to see God. They rest for a few days but have to destroy some Ammonites slowing the ship down. Soon after, they arrive at the other side in a new town, Kombinat.

The voice says "NO! DON'T!". It is probably the goddess Myria, who dislikes senseless violence. After this, the operator seizes the window of opportunity and whacks a crane into Ryu, knocking him out. He's then transported onto a train leading out of the area. However Ryu wakes up and breaks out of the train, falling into the Cedar Woods.

It transfers machines to the other side of the ocean. However, the people appear to be the equivalent of human robots - they do not seem to know a lot about the world around them. And, they don't know where the machines they load onto the Black Ship come from, either. Their stay in Kombinat is short. A bit of legwork gets them to the Colony. Closer inspection of a machine there reveals a teleporter similar to the one at Wyndia. After activating it, they use it. They soon find they are in the Steel Beach freighter, back where they started. But they soon realise if this teleported them back, then it may be able to port them to God. They fix the antenna... and new locations are revealed.

Rei saves him, first by throwing a dagger at a tree to distract them, then killing the Currs. He's not too happy about it, but he takes the now human (and naked!) Ryu back to his home in the Cedar Woods. Food is scarce, but Teepo, Rei's friend, seems to be happy enough to let him stay. They let him rest. Teepo comments that he was abandoned in the same way as Ryu.

The 'Rod 4' can be found in the Gust Cave. The Obelisk and Scande are dungeons from the end of the game, but you don't find any rod there. In Tunlan, you need to fall in the correct pit to find the 'Rod 5'. You need it to get all the Dragon equipment and most Dragon spells.

They teleport over the mud ocean, and find a way into where Elina is being held, although they are captured, sent back, and told she is not there. Later, the party return to Astana and find Yuna has been trying to turn Elina into an Endless, akin to the dragons. Elina begs Cray to kill her with the only weapon that can - the Dragonslayer.

Upon arrival, the patriarch, Griol, greets Ryu. They appear to be aware of his existence, as they were waiting for him. The group attend a banquet, but a woman drugs Ryu's meat so he falls asleep (that or he was just very tired...). In his dreams, he sees Brood who say they gave up their powers for this moment, and that he is their hope. Griol then says that before he can slay the Goddess Myria, he needs the ultimate Brood power. He then wakes up. Garr believes that the Brood still hate him, however, Rei says that the only person's opinion who matters is Ryu, and that Garr thinks too much. Griol then wants Ryu to see the Elder of Dragnier: the oldest Brood, alive since the Great War.

They need food, so they went there, but all the villagers are wised up and they can't get any. But Ryu shows up, and Teepo suggests he help them out. Somehow Teepo knows Ryu's name already (you'll find out later why), though it's never said where Rei learns it. After they steal some gear for Ryu, they go down to the road and try to mug Bunyan, but it doesn't work. Bunyan warns them that they'll "be sorry", but Teepo and Rei don't take too much heed of it.

Tantra uses this highly irritating skill. You'll have to fight him twice, and the second time he will absorb the souls of his fallen comrades - if you killed Deegon, Geegagis or both, he will take on a few of their skills and strengths.

Rei can morph in to a Weretiger. At the start of the game, he can't but he does mention it. When Ryu grows up, he can transform when you recruit him.

The Icy Cane and Evil Cane aren't that powerful. The Spirit Cane doesn't exist. The Glow Cane, however, is very strong, when compared to her other weapons. You can find it in Prima. Have Gobi as the leader and go to the shop where there are three salesmen. There is a fourth counter but nobody's there. That's Gobi's place! If you press the 'A' button, a customer will come and randomly buy or sell an item. If you're lucky, you might get the Glow Cane but you need a lot of money, and it will never appear if you have not defeated Zog. Tip: Go to the bank and deposit all of your items, so there will be no customers to buy your items. It gives you a higher chance of getting the Cane or any other very good weapons and armors. Afterword: Tunlan's shop does the same.

Ershin is a suit of armour which has a life of its own... somewhat. Without Deis inside, it would not function, yet because of the flawed summoning, Deis does not have her own body. The Endless are likened to gods summoned from other worlds who keep the balance of the planet in check. Whilst only the summoners at Chek know the correct way to summon these gods, it is revealed the Imperials tried to summon not only Deis but also the summoning of Fou-lu, which did not go to plan and split him, causing the creation of Ryu.

Answer: Steal some food from Bunyan's house

Rei suggests they go to Bunyan's house to steal some food. Ryu finds some Beef Jerky in a drawer, but the success is short lived. Bunyan ties up Rei, Teepo and Ryu after they exit: he's none too pleased they stole from him. He sends Rei up the mountain to deal with a monster terrorising the village's food supplies, and tasks Teepo and Ryu with chopping some wood. This takes but a couple of minutes to do. Teepo wants to follow Rei, so they do.

You can get the 'Mallet' exactly the same way as the Glow Cane of the previous question. The Mallet is by far his strongest weapon, and is a one-handed weapon.

This action is drastic because the rakda is the party's only way to return to the start of the Desert. Considering the consequences, this marked a metaphorical point of no return. After this, the rest of the journey proceeds smoothly, and, finally, the Oasis is reached. Following a short rest at an Oasis, the party get a lead on their next and final location...

Answer: To get a passport for the Eastern lands

They need another passport for the Eastern lands. Because Ryu, Momo, Garr and Peco would be recognised, and thus rejected, it's decided that Rei should get credit for helping her out and the necessary passport. After being invited to have a look around, whilst the passport is being prepared, Nina finds Honey's (Momo's pet machine) followed them to the basement, and she picks her up. She also notes that Ryu was thrown in jail here before. This time, soon after they get the passport, a guard runs in and tells Sheila about Rei being spotted with Ryu. Sheila (the Queen) and Nina have a family row, and Nina is annoyed at the opinion that Ryu and co. are conmen. Nina also adds that Sheila has not seen anything outside her castle, like the Brood, the gang at Syn City and the remnants of the Techno Age. Then Rei adds a comment about all baby birds having to fly the nest eventually, and him being a crook and a thief, but not Ryu. After this exchange, the King sends his men chasing after them.

Although he wants them to be safe, that isn't why he's disappointed. He can't morph into Weretiger with them there. The Weretiger is uncontrollable, but far more powerful than Rei, but he doesn't want to risk hurting Teepo or Ryu. However, they continue on to scare the Nue into the caves, and then kill it. They are sad to find it was just getting food for its dead babies, but upon confronting Bunyan on the matter he exclaims "Would you have let her live, if you knew she had cubs?". However, Bunyan is pleased, as are the villagers, and Teepo brags to McNeil Village about the experience. A man named Loki flatters them, then enlists their help in a new mission to steal money from McNeil...
