2. The title of this 2010 sci-fi flick, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, describes the process of implanting an idea into someone's mind through dreams. What's the film?

Answer: Inception

Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, "Inception" (2010) is set in a futuristic world where corporate espionage takes place within dreams. In the film, Dom Cobb (DiCaprio), an extractor skilled at stealing information, is given the opportunity to return home to his children and escape false charges of murder if he can perform inception and imbed an idea in a person's mind through a dream, a task considered impossible. 3. What is the astronomical term for the mathematical configuration where an inferior planet (Mercury or Venus) is between the Earth and the Sun?

Answer: Inferior Conjunction

An Inferior Conjunction occurs when Earth and an inferior planet or celestial object (such as comets and asteroids) line up on the same side of the sun. The asteroid or comet must have part of its orbit in between Earth and the Sun. When the same phenomenon happens with the inferior object on the other side of the sun, it is called a Superior Conjunction.

4. What is the definition of the term "idiolect"?

Answer: The personal variety of language unique to an individual

Idiolect is a similar word as dialect, as they have the same root suffix. A dialect is the type of accent someone talks with, but with the same language. For instance, in the United States, there is the southern dialect, New York dialect, and "New Joisey" dialect, among others. Idiolect, however, is a dialect unique to the individual. Nobody sounds exactly the same; we all have our own "idiolect".

5. I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! The average American eats around 15 quarts of frozen dairy goodness every year. In fact, the United States even has a National Ice Cream Month, when ice cream consumption reaches a peak. In what month, named after a Roman dictator, does this take place?

Answer: July

Ice cream's appeal grows as the weather heats up, hence the summer months of July and August see ice cream sales at their highest in America. Vanilla is the country's favorite flavor, with chocolate taking a distant second. In 1984, President Reagan declared July (named, of course, after Julius Caesar) to be National Ice Cream Month, and the third Sunday of July to be National Ice Cream Day. I'll gladly admit it: I am one of the more than 90% of Americans who regularly enjoy partaking of ice cream -- in a dish, on a cone, atop apple pie, or made into a sundae!

7. If you can't stand the cold, get out of the icebox! Although it is not necessarily the country's coldest spot, what city in the United States has officially claimed the nickname "Icebox of the Nation"?

Answer: International Falls

Located just south of the United States' border with Canada, International Falls, Minnesota is connected to Fort Francis, Ontario via the Fort Frances-International Falls International Bridge. The Minnesota city holds claim to the moniker "Icebox of the Nation", but although its lowest temperatures plunge well below zero, International Falls has had to battle the small town of Fraser, Colorado for the title. Shortly after winning a trademark battle in 2008 for this claim to fame, International Falls hit a record of minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit/Celsius.

8. "Ich schlieben austa be clair, es kumpent madre monstere aus-be aus-can-be flaugen, begun be uske but-bair." These are lyrics to a Lady Gaga song; what language is it in?

Answer: A made-up language

"I don't speak German but I can if you like". The lyrics in the question were made up by Lady Gaga. She said she wanted it to sound like German, though it was totally made up. In fact, Lady Gaga does not know any German. The song is off of her "Born This Way" album (2011), and the title is a German cuss word, so therefore I will not mention it. ;-)
