Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Book 1: Eragon Name the character who said the following words: "Fethrblaka, eka woehnata haina ono. Blaka eom iet lam."

Answer: Brom

This was in the Ancient Language. Translated into English: "Bird, I will not harm you. Flap to my hand."
2. What property does the lethal form of Seithr oil have?

Answer: It dissolves and burns only living things or things that were living once, and not non-living items like metal.

Seithr oil was what the Ra'zac used to torture Garrow.
3. Translate: "Du Fyrn Skulblaka".

Answer: The Dragon War

"Du Sundavar Freohr": The Death of Shadows.
"Du Weldenvarden": The Guarding Forest
"Du Gata Vrangr": The Wandering Path
4. What is the difference between a magician and a witch?

Answer: A magician has magical powers while a witch's powers come from various potions, brews and herbs

There are five different types of magic performers: Sorcerers, Shades, magicians, witches and Riders. Each person's power comes from a different source.
5. Name any one species that is native to Alageasia (and did not migrate to it from somewhere else).

Answer: Dragons

The dragons and dwarves are the only races native to Alagaesia. The rest migrated from far off lands. The Ra'zac aren't native to Alagaesia. They hail from what ever land the human ancestors came from.
6. Book 2: Eldest What are 'Lethrblaka'?

Answer: Bats

'Lethrblaka': Leather-flapper.
The mature Ra'zac, after they emerge from their exoskeleton, are also called Lethrblaka, but bats are also given this name by the elves (check translations at the back of the book).

Birds are called 'Fethrblaka' (Feather-flapper).
7. Name the dwarf god of the heavens and the air.

Answer: Urur

Morgothal: God of fire
Helzvog: God of stone
Sindri: Goddess of the earth
8. Brom was personally responsible for the deaths of how many prominent servants of Galbatorix? [Note: 'Others' does not include members of the Forsworn].

Answer: Eight; three Forsworn and five others

Oromis tells this to Eragon when speaking to him of Brom's history. We are also told that Brom founded the Varden and idolized Morzan before the latter joined Galbatorix.
9. What do the Elves call the Forsworn?

Answer: Wyrdfell

'Wyrda' is the Elven word for 'fate'. I'm not sure what the Forsworn have to do with fate, but that's what they're called.
10. Name the werecat that lives in Queen Islanzadi's court.

Answer: Maud

Solembum travels with Angela, not Islanzadi.
