Awards? Yes, this movie won five Razzie awards including Worst Actress (Madonna), Worst Director (Guy Ritchie), and Worst Picture. I had heard of this movie, and tried to avoid it, but I came face to face with it on cable the other day. After a minute of watching, I had to change the channel, and there hadn't even been any dialog.

2. What 1988 martial arts movie was filmed in Malta? This was an early Jean-Claude Van Damme movie.

Answer: Black Eagle

I only recorded this movie from TV to see the scenery. I spent a lot of time fast forwarding.

Unlike a lot of movies filmed in Malta, this one actually takes place in Malta. Kidder plays an aspiring mystery writer on vacation in Malta. She somehow ends up involved in a mystery herself. The hotel she stays at in the movie is actually the Verdala Palace, used as a summer residence by the Maltese president.

The story is not that great, but the movie showcases many places in Malta very nicely.

"Raise The Titanic" also stars Richard Jordan and Alec Guiness. It is about a rare mineral on board the Titanic wreckage that can be used to power a laser. The Russians and the Americans both want it and will try to raise the ship to get it. Right. Proud owner of three Razzie Awards, including Worst Picture.
