1. Who was the first player to hit over 50 home runs in a season in the history of baseball?

Answer: Babe Ruth

Ruth hit 54 in 1920 with the Yankees. This was his first season in the pinstripes, after he left Boston. He hit 29 with the 1919 Boston club. To top his 1920 season, the Babe hit 59 in 1921. He would still have two more seasons of smacking more than 50 in a season before he retired.
2. What team was once known as the 'Atlantics'?

Answer: Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers were known as the Atlantics. This was one of many names the franchise had, since the beginning in 1884 as the Atlantics. The franchise has encountered names such as the Grays, Grooms, Bridegrooms, Superbas, and Robins.
3. What player had the nicknames of the Splinter, Thumper, and The Kid, throughout his Major League career?

Answer: Ted Williams

The great Ted Williams had these nicknames in addition to Teddy Ballgame. Williams was a loyal Red Sox player and lived his entire career in a Boston uniform. He died in 2002.
4. Who was the first 20th century pitcher to throw 300 strikeouts in a season?

Answer: Rube Waddell

Rube Waddell K'd 302 batters in 1903 for the Philadelphia Athletics. He topped that the following year with 349 strikeouts. In only 407 games over 13 seasons, Waddell struck out an amazing 2,316 batters.

'Leo the Lip' lovingly known to umpires, is the only one listed to have won even a 1,000 games in their managerial career. Durocher retired with 2008 wins. His main-stays were the Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Giants, and Chicago Cubs.
10. Who was the only person to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1993?

Answer: Reggie Jackson

'Mr. October' made it into the Hall all by himself with a 94% vote. He earned his nickname by hitting massive home runs in post season play. All others listed were inducted 10 years earlier in 1983.
