Answer: David Justice

The other 3 won the award, but all in the American League. Justice of the Atlanta Braves, hit 28 home runs and batted .282 for the season. He beat out Expo Delino DeShields for the award. Justice hit his 300th home run as an Oakland Athletic in 2002.

The Atlanta Braves were the only team with their record of 101-59. They lost the Division Series to the Giants. The Yankees and Oakland each won 103 in the American League.

'Rapid Robert' played his entire 18 year career with Cleveland. His stellar year was in 1940 when he won the Triple Crown. Surprisingly, he was runner-up for the MVP to Detroit's Hank Greenberg. In 1946, Bob struck out 348 batters. The other players listed, never pitched, and never played for the Indians.
8. What player hit the most grand slams in the 20th century?

Answer: Lou Gehrig

The others listed were all pitchers, and none of them played in the 20th century. Gehrig hit 23 for the Yankees. Gehrig usually batted in the 4th spot on the team. Eddie Murray hit 19, and Willie McCovey hit 18 with the Giants.

Answer: Duke Snider
