He won an Olympic gold medal in the lightweight division in the 1960 Olympic Games and was voted Sportsman of the Century by "Sports Illustrated" magazine. Ali inspired many films, many of which won awards such as Oscars. Because of this, Ali was honoured with a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Growing up in Bowral, New South Wales, Bradman practiced cricket by hitting a golf ball against a water tank with a cricket stump, giving him an unbelievable eye. Pele was born Edison Arantes do Nascimento on the 23rd of October 1940 in the poor region of Três Corações, Brazil. His father was also a Soccer player, although he wasn't a very well known one. Pele became one of the best soccer players of all-time, winning awards such as the FIFA World Cup Gold Ball, and the UNICEF Player of the Century.

He won many over Player of the Century awards for many other competitions and teams. After his retirement in 1977 he became an actor, appearing in movies such as "Hotshot" in 1987, and "Escape to Victory" in 1981, in many films playing himself.

He also appeared in many advertising commercials.

Unfortunately, after retirement, Thorpe struggled to earn a living. He also struggled with alcoholism, and in his last few years living he also failed with health and was living in poverty.

However, this doesn't mean he wasn't a good sportsman.

He also became a part-owner of the Phoenix Coyotes, and soon became senior coach of the side.

Born Paavo Johannes Nurmi on the 13th of June 1897 in Turku, Finland, Nurmi has a statue of himself in front of the Helsinki Olympic stadium. He ran in the 1920s and was considered the best athlete of his time. He sadly died on the 2nd of October 1973.
