Merseyside Nighthawks and Edinburgh Wolves both play in the Premier Division North of the British American Football Association National Leagues, a summer league that takes place from April to September. Leicester Tigers are based in the city of Leicester in the East Midlands.

Poole Pirates and Ipswich Witches compete in the Speedway Great Britain (SGB) Premiership the top speedway league in the UK. Poole Pirates are based in the town of Poole in Dorset in the south west of England and won the SGB Premiership title in 2018. Ipswich Witches are based in the town of Ipswich in Suffolk and race at the Foxhall Stadium.

Belfast Giants and Nottingham Panthers play in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) the top level ice hockey league in the UK. Belfast Giants were founded in 2000 in the Northern Irish city of Belfast. They won their first EIHL title in 2002. Nottingham Panthers are based in the city of Nottingham in the East Midlands area of England.

The team was founded in 1946 and moved to the National Ice Centre in Nottingham in 2000.

Newcastle Eagles and London Lions play in the British Basketball League (BBL) the professional basketball league in the UK. Newcastle Eagles are based in the city of Newcastle in north east England and in 2019 moved to the Eagles Community Arena, a purpose built arena on the edge of Newcastle city centre; having previously been based at Northumbria University. London Lions were originally formed as the Hemel Hempstead Lakers in 1977 and had a number of different names before becoming the London Lions in 2012.

Lancashire and Yorkshire are both cricket clubs based in the counties of the same names in northern England. The nicknames 'Lightning' and 'Vikings' are used when the clubs play matches in the one day and Twenty20 formats of cricket. They were founded in 1874 and are the second oldest hockey club in the world. Beeston Hockey Club is based in the town of Beeston near to the city of Nottingham. The club is nicknamed 'the bees' due to their colours of black and yellow and the club badge features a bee.
