The episode opened up with Jack, Kate and Charlie all walking through the jungle and Jack tried to use a walkie talkie see if he could get a signal for help. Charlie asked him if he could get a signal and Jack told him no and that he kept asking him if he had a signal. Kate asked Charlie what he was doing in the bathroom on the plane and he informed her he was sick.

It was later revealed that Charlie went to the bathroom to take drugs.

The second scene of the episode involved a flashback where we saw Charlie acting very nervous on the plane since he moved around constantly. A flight attendant came to him and asked if he was okay and Charlie told her he was fine. She asked Charlie if she could get him any water but Charlie declined that offer.

As the opening credits rolled, we saw Shannon relaxing on the beach with her eyes closed and Boone informed her he was going through their clothes and sorting them. He noticed Shannon's bag and simply said he saw how she found her bag. Boone asked Shannon if she could give them a hand but she said there would be no point to help out since the rescuers were going to come.

After Shannon declined Boone's offer to help out the other passengers, Claire asked Shannon if Boone was her boyfriend. Shannon said no since Boone was actually her brother. Shannon asked Claire if she knew what sex the baby was but Claire said she had no clue.

Sun was first seen down by the beach, with Jin nearby, and Michael came up to her and asked her if she had seen his son, Walt. Sun spoke to Michael in Korean but he could not understand her since he did not know Korean. Michael simply apologized and walked away.

As the opening credits continued to appear, Walt was first seen looking for Vincent and he had Vincent's leash in his hand. As he looked around, he noticed a pair of handcuffs on the ground. Michael saw Walt and ran to him and told him he should have stayed on the beach.

The opening credits finished rolling and it was the next scene where Sawyer and Sayid were fighting down by the beach with the other passengers observing them. Jack decided that enough was enough so he went down to break up their fight. After Jack went down to help stop the fight, Michael also intervened to help Jack out in ending it.

After Sawyer and Sayid's fight ended, Boone asked Jack if he located the cockpit to the plane and Jack said he did. Boone then asked him if there were any survivors and Jack responded there were none. Sayid then interrupted and said the battery to the walkie talkie was dead.

A little bit later on in the episode, Sayid and Hurley were interacting with each other while Sawyer tried to fix the walkie talkie but to no avail. Sayid mentioned to him that he was once a member of the Iraqi Republican Guard. He informed Hurley how he served with the group during the Persian Gulf War.

It was revealed that Mars was a U.S. Marshal and he was assigned to watch Kate since she was accused of killing her father, Wayne. Lehne played Edward Mars for a total of nine episodes on "Lost." He has also guest starred on the TV shows, "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit", and "The Mentalist."
