Answer: She gets kidnapped

At the motel, Sonny finds Pink Rapture lipstick which, as he learned from the date, is Marie's favorite brand of lipstick. The fact that Bains would have that is not a good sign. Thus, Sonny goes to Marie's house to check up on her. He finds a note on the door that says she has gone shopping, but it is clearly not in Marie's handwriting. So he opens the door and finds a lamp knocked over and a phone ripped out. Then, he knows he must save Marie.

Some of the other choices happen in other "Police Quest" games. She never gets an STD.

Answer: Hit list

Sonny finds Bains' hit list in an ashtray on the ground. It has the names Woody Roberts, Marie Wilkans, Donald Colby, and Sonny Bonds. Woody Roberts' name has a check next to it. Sonny has seen Roberts' dead body so he knows what this all means. He's already gotten Woody and now Marie appears to be next.

Answer: Steelton Police

You have to call the Steelton Police before you go to Steelton to let them know that Bains has escaped from prison and that Donald Colby, who lives in Steelton, is on Bains' hit list. Then, the police will tap Colby's phone and they will be waiting for you at the Steelton airport, where they can take you to the Steelton police department and tell you what they have found out.

If you don't call the Steelton police, then the game will end when you get there. Sonny and Keith won't know where to go, so they won't be able to find Bains. Bains will kill Colby, then 2 days later he will kill Marie and leave town.

Calling and warning Donald Colby doesn't do anything except gets you points. Coby believes he is perfectly safe because he is in Steelton under a witness protection program. What Colby doesn't know is his business card was found in a motel room where Bains murdered Roberts. Although the death message for not calling the Steelton police makes it sound like you could've saved Colby's life, you can't. He'll be dead once you get to Steelton no matter what you do. But if the Steelton Police taps Colby's phone, than Sonny can find and kill Bains and save Marie.

You should call Marie for a date. You'll learn some important information on the date. However, you can beat the game even if you skip the date. It doesn't make much sense story-wise but the game will allow you to do it.

Fletcher Hall is Sonny's boss and eventually you'll have to call him so the department can buy plane tickets for you and Keith. However, YOU don't make the call. Keith does.

Answer: Leisure Suit Larry

If you've played "Leisure Suit Larry 2," you'll know right away who that guy is as he's designed the same way in "Police Quest 2" as he was in "Larry 2." If you talk to any of the other 2 men, the game will tell you to talk to Larry. If you talk to Larry, you'll hear part of the Larry theme song and he will say "Hi I'm Larry... Larry Laffer." You can talk to him a few times for some funny quotes.

He'll point out a hot blond girl, who if you talk to her will actually turn out to be a guy. He'll also ask you where Coarsegold is. Coarsegold is where the Sierra headquarters used to be.

In "Police Quest 2," there is an Easter egg where you can call the Sierra headquarters. Sometimes you will get Al Lowe, who will tell you about "Larry 2."

Answer: Bum Aroun, Egypt

The hijackers hijack the plane so they can safely go to Bum Aroun, Egypt. Why they would think a plane going from Lytton, California to Steelton, California would have enough fuel to go all the way to Egypt, I don't know. How they think they're going to get there safely when they have a bomb on board that's set to explode before they reach Steelton, I don't know.

The crazy thing is, if you do nothing about the hijackers, somehow the plane safely makes it to Bum Aroun. How this happens is beyond me.

It doesn't matter, though. The game still ends.

Answer: Ask Keith to kill them

You may think you want to shoot them as quickly as possible. However, one of them has the stewardess in a chokehold. You have to wait for him to push the stewardess to the ground before you shoot him. Otherwise, you will accidentally shoot and kill the stewardess and the hijacker will shoot and kill you.

On the plane the stewardess will offer you a variety of beverages, some of which are alcoholic, and some of which are not. You can call the stewardess as many times as you like before the hijacking happens. Every time she offers you a drink, you should either order a non-alcoholic beverage or you should refuse a drink. If you order an alcoholic beverage, Keith will warn you that you shouldn't be drinking. This may be hypocritical of Keith because cops shouldn't be smoking any more than they should be drinking, but he is still right. If you order 3 alcoholic drinks, you will be under the influence of alcohol and you won't be able to shoot straight.

If you didn't go to the shooting range between the time you went to the motel and the time you got on the airplane, the game is unwinnable.

Fortunately, asking Keith to kill the hijackers will not get you killed... because he won't kill them! The game doesn't allow you to ask Keith to kill them. You are expected to do most of the work.

Answer: Turban

You need to get close to the unmasked hijacker and type "Search turban." There you will find a set of instructions for building a bomb. On the masked hijacker you will find a set of wire-cutters in his pockets. Why the game won't just let you type "search men" and have him do it like "Quest For Glory" does it is beyond me.

Answer: True

If you cut the wrong wire, the screen will show a big "KABOOM!" If you don't disarm the bomb at all, the game will cut to an outside view of an airplane flying left to right on the screen and when it's about 3/4 of the way to the right of the screen it will blow up. So, although both deaths are essentially the same death and you get similar message with both deaths, the scene the game shows is different.

Answer: Burt Park

When Sonny and Keith arrive in Steelton, they learn that Donald Colby has been murdered before the police could react. They tapped his phone and traced a threatening call from Bains to Colby's phone from Burt park. Then one of the officers there take Sonny and Keith to Burt park where they look for Bains.

Answer: Mugger

At Burt park, Sonny nearly gets mugged (he actually get mugged if you do nothing). The best way to scare off the mugger is radio Keith. Keith will then take care of the mugger, leaving Sonny on his own to search for Bains.

Answer: Sewer

No one finds Bains anywhere above ground in Burt Park. Sonny finds a manhole cover and decides to search the sewer.

Answer: Tell her to calm down

When Marie sees Sonny she will be super-excited. She will be so excited that she'll make a lot of noise which will draw Bains into the room before Bonds is ready unless Sonny tells her to calm down.

Answer: Yes

In "Police Quest 1", Jesse Bains somehow survived the gunshots. But not this time. This time he's dead, if Sonny gets him. Rumor has it this game has 2 different endings depending on who has shot first. There's supposed to be a bad ending if Sonny shoots first.

However, even though I have tried getting this bad ending by shooting WAY before Bains did, I have never successfully gotten this supposed bad ending nor have I ever seen anyone else get it.

Answer: Mark Seibert

Mark Seibert was a composer who worked for Sierra. He composed much music for many Sierra games including "Girl in the Tower" for "King's Quest 6" and "Erana's Peace" for "Quest For Glory." The "Police Quest 2" theme song is one of his finest works ever. If you're ever fortunate enough to hear it with the Roland MT-32, you'll feel like you've died and gone to heaven. The music for this game is the main reason this is my favorite "Police Quest" game.

Jan Hammer did the "Police Quest 3" soundtrack and while he's a much bigger name than Mark Seibert outside of Sierra fanatics, I much prefer Mark Seibert's work.

Rob Atesalp composed the music for "Police Quest 1 VGA." Tammy Dargan worked on "Police Quest 4" and the SWAT games.

Answer: Propose to Marie

Once Sonny kills Jesse Bains, he gets some well-earned time off. During this time, he and Marie take a trip to the Bahamas. Sonny then proposes to Marie, and of course she had to say "I do" because she was in "Cell Block Love" with Sonny ("Leisure Suit Larry 6" reference).
