Answer: Airport

Bains steals a black car from a middle-age woman at Oak Tree Mall and he leaves it at the airport. There, Bonds finds a lot of important evidence.

Bains buys a plane ticket to Houston, but he doesn't actually go to Houston. He also buys a rental car from that same airport. The ticket to Houston turns out to be a red herring. Apparently he is trying to confuse the Lytton police officers so they won't catch him so he can keep doing his dirty work.

In theory, though, he doesn't want to confuse Sonny because he wants revenge against him. Bains does both of these things under the name Luis Pate, which is actually the name of the jailer he killed.

Answer: Gun

In the middle stall in the men's room, you will find Luis Pate's gun, which Bains stole and killed Pate with. This can be found in the middle stall by flushing the toilet. When you notice the water overflowing, examine the toilet and you'll see that the gun is the reason for the overflowing.

Answer: Marie Wilkans

After bailing Marie out of jail to help with the Hotel Delphoria operation and after taking down Jessie Bains the first time, the game reveals that Sonny has his first date with Marie that night. In "Police Quest 2" they have been dating for a year. Marie got Bonds to keep his blond hair for a while and to change his Sports car in for a cheaper model.

After the shift today they have a date at Arnie's restaurant.

Answer: Pink Rapture

After kissing Marie, she will smear Sonny in her favorite brand of lipstick which is Pink Rapture. This information will become very important later in the game.

Technically you can beat the game without knowing this, but you'll have to either know what you're doing or you'll have to have just randomly decided to visit Marie's house on day 2. The first time I played the game I did the latter and just got lucky (I had skipped the date; I didn't know I was supposed to call Marie for a date). Story-wise, it makes no sense if you beat the game without going to the date and learning Marie's favorite lipstick. It'll mean Sonny just randomly decided to visit his girlfriend during his working hours for no reason with his smoking partner at his side while they were supposed to be chasing down a murderer. Anyway, you'll be missing out on point if you do this.

Answer: Lobster

Marie orders the most expensive thing on the menu. She doesn't care about the money because Sonny is paying. With the multiple promotions Sonny has received in his time, he apparently makes more money than the average police officer.

Answer: Warehouse

Sonny gets called to an abandoned warehouse to investigate a murderer. Both the murderer and victim are familiar to Sonny.

Answer: Woody Roberts

The first man Bains gets his revenge against is Woody Roberts, the Hotel Delphoria bartender in the original "Police Quest 1". Roberts had facilitated the gambling ring at the hotel. When Bains was taken down, Roberts testified against him, helping him get in jail. When Bains got out of jail, he wanted revenge against everyone that got him there and in this case he got it.

In the remake of 'Police Quest 1", Woody Roberts was replaced with a woman named Alexandra Parker. At the time of the creation of this quiz there is no remake of "Police Quest 2". It is unclear whether or not Parker would be the murder victim in a remake of "Police Quest 2".

Bains lured Roberts to a motel with a fake business proposition. Roberts fell for it and Bains got him.

Answer: William Cole

On day 2 Bains had stopped using Luis Pate's name and started using the pseudonym "William Cole." It's not certain whether "William Cole" is another actual person who Bains killed and stole his ID (like Luis Pate) or if it's just a name he made up.

After "Police Quest 4", "Police Quest" was turned into a completely different style of game known as SWAT. While the "Police Quest" games were puzzle-solving adventure games, SWAT was one of those first person action games where you go around shooting people. You don't actually see a SWAT team in the first four "Police Quest" games, except in "Police Quest 2" when you call one to the motel in an attempt to take out Jesse Bains (who turns out to not be in the hotel when Sonny is there).

Answer: He takes a shotgun into evidence

Keith radios for the warrant, but it's Sonny who actually takes it from the officer who brings it there and gives it to the clerk. Also Keith does not spring the trap. It's Sonny who does that. Lastly it's the SWAT team that fires a gas weapon into the room not Keith.

But after all of those things have been done, Keith takes the shotgun that nearly kills Sonny into evidence while Sonny searches the hotel room for more evidence.

In the trunk of the car at the warehouse, Sonny found a corner of an envelope in Woody Roberts' hand. In the motel room, Sonny finds the rest of the envelope which contains a deceptive letter that tricked Woody Roberts into coming to the motel. He also finds Donald Colby's business card in the bathroom, and gets alarmed knowing Colby helped put Bains behind bars. Worst of all, Sonny finds a tube of Pink Rapture lipstick which he knows is Marie's favorite brand of lipstick. Sonny doesn't want to think about why Bains may have had that lipstick.

Keith believes Bains got the gun in a burglary and tells Bonds to talk to the burglary division about it. Bonds does so and the burglary division confirms that a gun was taken as evidence from a recent pawn shop burglary and Bains fingerprints were on that gun.

Answer: Empire State Building Ready to Fall

The "Police Quest 2" newspaper wasn't quite prophetic of the future, but sadly it was unintentionally quite close. This 1988 game has a newspaper article that reads "Empire State Building Ready to Fall." Thirteen years later, a really tall New York City building actually did fall. Actually two really tall "New York City" buildings. This is one of many ways you can tell this game was made before 9/11/01. A lot of things in this game would not fly today.

Unlike in the first game, in the second game you literally have to trigger the newspaper article before you can read it. You do that by drawing your gun and firing it in a random place. If you're a "Police Quest 2" veteran and you've never done this, it's worth doing (after saving your game). It's one of my all-time favorite adventure game deaths.
