Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Get to Work

Answer: Magnolia Promenade

The base game of 'The Sims 4' starts players off with three new worlds for their sims to live in - Willow Creek, Oasis Springs and (following an update patch in June 2015) Newcrest - but if you want to be able to venture to a wider range of locations then you need to buy additional expansion packs or game packs. The first of the expansion packs, 'Get to Work', was released in 2015 for PC and Mac only (although a console version was later made available in 2018). It introduced a small neighbourhood called Magnolia Promenade containing three shops and an empty residential lot.

The main premise of the 'Get to Work' expansion pack was the introduction of new interactive careers where players can follow their sim to work and guide them through the challenges of their working day (rather than sending them off and taking a well-deserved rest from micro-managing their lives). The career options opened up to your sims via this pack were detective, doctor and scientist.
2. Get Together

Answer: Windenburg

The world of Windenburg, based on the timber-framed architectural style of central Germany, was released as part of the 'The Sims 4: Get Together' expansion pack. This was the second of the two expansions for the PC/Mac version of game released in 2015 and was also made available as a console version in 2018. Windenburg includes four separate neighbourhoods, including an exclusive private island neighbourhood called The Crumbling Isle. Overall there is a roughly even mix of residential and commercial lots, as well as a small number of other special lots that sims can visit.

Windenburg also includes nightclub and café lots to support the main idea of 'Get Together' - giving sims a wider range of social interactions, such as the ability to form social clubs, take part in games and tournaments, and hone dancing skills.
3. City Living

Answer: San Myshuno

'The Sims 4: City Living' first introduced the urban world of San Myshuno for the PC and Mac in 2016, while a console version came out a year later. The four new neighbourhoods of San Myshuno also introduced new housing options in the form of apartments - which range from tiny, cramped and cheap ones to glitzy and expensive penthouses. San Myshuno also reflects the reality of modern urban living as it has a more diverse population of pre-made families than seen in the more suburban worlds of the base game.

This expansion pack also provides the opportunity for sims to take up a career in politics, as well as more 21st century options in social media or being a food or art critic.
4. Cats and Dogs

Answer: Brindleton Bay

The fourth expansion pack for the 'The Sims 4' to be released (in 2017 for PC/Mac and 2018 for consoles) brought animals back into the series. 'Cats and Dogs' introduces the option for sims to have both cats and dogs as pets and a whole range of new ways to interact with them - however, the cats and dogs are not directly controllable by either the sim or the player (much like real life I suppose!). There is also the option to create raccoons (a form of cat for some reason) and foxes (a form of dog - which seems more reasonable).

Brindleton Bay is the new world introduced in the pack. It is a seaside town filled with pet-friendly activities and various lots with cat and dog-themed names. The community lots also include a vet clinic and the pack introduces veterinarian as a new career option for the human sims.
5. Seasons

Answer: No new world

The only expansion pack of the first ten to be released for 'The Sims 4' that did not include a new world for sims to explore and inhabit was 2018's 'Seasons'. What it did introduce though was the concept of weather and how this differs throughout the year. 'Seasons' also made changes to the worlds that already existed from the base game and earlier expansion packs by applying different types of climate to them - for example the desert world of Oasis Springs doesn't get the winter snow that leafy Willow Creek receives.

In addition to the physical aspects of the different seasons of the year, the 'Seasons' expansion pack also introduced the concept of a calendar and traditional holiday seasons. Players have the option to create a whole host of their own special holidays, but the main four included with the game are Love Day in spring, Harvestfest in autumn, and winter's Winterfest and New Year's Eve.
6. Get Famous

Answer: Del Sol Valley

Del Sol Valley from 'The Sims 4: Get Famous' (an expansion released in 2018 for PC/Mac and early 2019 for consoles) is purported to be based on the city of Los Angeles, California, which makes sense when you consider that the premise of the expansion is around a new interactive acting career and concept of fame, fortune and celebrity status.

In addition to a neighbourhood filled with expensive mansions fit for the richest celebrities, it also includes a special hidden lot called Plumbob Pictures that can only be accessed by sims who have taken up acting as a career.
7. Island Living

Answer: Sulani

'The Sims 4: Island Living' (from 2019) is about giving sims the option of a more relaxed, laid-back lifestyle by moving to the new island world of Sulani. The new world consists of three separate island neighbourhoods - Mua Pel'am, Lani St. Taz and Ohan'ali Town. The latter contains the main settlement, while Lani St. Taz is a ocean paradise and Mua Pel'am is overshadowed by an active volcano.

The expansion pack includes mermaids as a new type of playable sim and the option to befriend and interact with dolphins. In keeping with the laid-back nature of Sulani, sims also get three new part-time career options (lifeguard, fisherman and diver) as well as a new full-time career option to be a conservationist.
8. Discover University

Answer: Britechester

Another expansion pack released in 2019 was 'Discover University', which - kind of as it says in the name - opens up the world of higher education for sims. They can choose to attend either the University of Britechester or the Foxbury Institute, which are both located in the new world of Britechester, and study one of 13 different degree disciplines. These degrees will help sims advance in a number of the existing careers introduced in either the base game or earlier expansions as well as the three new career options provided by 'Discover University' (education, engineering and law).

Britechester itself contains three neighbourhoods - one each for the two universities and a third containing a small residential area and the key student amenities of a library and a pub! The university neighbourhoods include a new type of housing - university dorms - where student sims can live with room-mates.
9. Eco Lifestyle

Answer: Evergreen Harbor

Evergreen Harbor is the new world included with 'The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle' expansion pack released in 2020. As the name of both the pack and the new world imply, the focus of this addition to the game is the environment and building an understanding of how different life choices can impact on it. A new feature is the concept of an "eco footprint", which measures the level of pollution experienced in every neighbourhood (including those in worlds from the base game and earlier expansions) and gives sims the opportunity to improve their environment, for example by installing solar panels, upgrading the efficiency of appliances and developing neighbourhood action plans (via the new civil engineer career) to work together on communal areas.

Evergreen Harbor contains three neighbourhoods which each begin the game in different environmental states - Grims Quarry has a green eco footprint, Conifer Station is neutral and Port Promise is a polluted industrial area.
10. Snowy Escapes

Answer: Mt. Komorebi

The 'Snowy Escapes' expansion pack released in November 2020 introduced sims to the concept of winter sports in the new snowy world of Mt. Komorebi and gives them the opportunity to take up skiing, snowboarding and mountain climbing. Mt. Komorebi is both a residential area and holiday destination with a mixture of permanent homes and rental lots. It is designed with a Japanese theme in terms of both the architecture and the appearance and naming of the pre-made sims living there.

In addition to the range of new activities available on the slopes of Mt. Komorebi, the game also provides some options for "apres-ski" such as hot springs and bathhouses as well as bars and lounges. There is also a new mechanism called "lifestyles" which are traits that sims can gain by undertaking specific activities and living their lives in particular ways - for example, sims who stay at home and spend a lot of time glued to their computer playing video games (like many of the people controlling them) might end up gaining an "indoorsy" lifestyle.
