Wow! The congratulations message has arrived, that's a relief! I found this one harder than usual, but perhaps it's because of too many late nights recently? lol Thanks again Sue for doing the honours! Reply #1826. Jan 17 18, 7:12 AM |

Chris and I are sitting out today and tomorrow in what is described as catastrophic fire conditions. I must just go and finish getting everything ready in case there's an emergency. (Don't worry, nothing much happening right now, but there is never much warning should something occur) Reply #1828. Jan 17 18, 6:51 PM |

I'd better clarify that further - Chris and I live in different towns in the same area (Adelaide Hills - Fleurieu). Reply #1829. Jan 17 18, 6:52 PM |

Same to you, Chris. It's strange, living on a tinderbox, with no actual problem, just the distinct possibility of a catastrophe. I keep thinking about what happened recently in California. Reply #1831. Jan 18 18, 2:28 AM |

I sincerely hope you are both able to avoid the fires, it rarely causes such problems here in the UK. Reply #1832. Jan 18 18, 9:24 AM |

We don't have wildfires in my part of North Carolina, but we are on alert during hurricane season. Here's hoping you both get to stay home in safety. Reply #1833. Jan 18 18, 1:19 PM |

I just visited my mother, who lives about 20 minutes away. Walking outside is like being hit in the face with a blast furnace, and this was before lunch. Glad to be at home with the curtains drawn. Just as well I visited her though; she had switched her air-con off. Her little house heats up fast without it. Reply #1834. Jan 18 18, 7:54 PM |

Ahhhh the bliss. Temp dropped 10 degrees (from 41 to 31) in an hour earlier this pm and is now a balmy 22. No major fires reported AFAIK. Reply #1835. Jan 19 18, 4:01 AM |

It is a little cooler, but I suspect you have had a sea breeze through. No such luck here yet (9.30 pm). Reply #1836. Jan 19 18, 5:03 AM |
