Subject: Fake Album Titles And Bands.

Posted by: sectant
Date: May 14 18

Okay folks, get your brain in gear and untap your creative side. Make up your own album title and band. Or solo artist.

Sixty Songs In Sixty Seconds by The Prog Rocks.
Changin' My Image by Tony "Mad Dog" Bennett
Vegetarians Kill Too! by The Squealing Radishes

That sort of thing

The pic didn't come through for Did I Sleep Well. It was meant to be a little cartoon thing with bulging, tired eyes. Sorry!

Maybe it's the hour. Maybe it's lack of sleep. Maybe it's hours and hours and hours of Futbol, to finally have a breakthrough and actually GET IT! I now love it, and can't stop watching it, although I don't fully get it. But my questions are being answered all over the place. This is a very complex sport. It is to me, probably because it's so foreign, although it's a lot like hockey without the ice.

Anyway... I don't get this one, and I know I should, but I just don't:

"Searching For Graham Nash by The Hollie Hunter"

Graham Nash was once in the Hollies.
Holly Hunter is an actress.
One member of the Hollies means it's a single Hollie
And it's a pun, therefore Holly becomes Hollie

So....The Hollie Hunter.

Well done Elle, You didn't have to do it - above and beyond the call of duty etc - but I'm glad you are now finding some enjoyment in it.

The Hollies was a British group in the 1960s, most famous in that decade. I'm not sure they ever made any impact in the USA, so it's not surprising it didn't mean anything to you Elle.

The complexity of football is mostly perceived, I would say, because of all the arguing over, was it or wasn't it a penalty? Was it or wasn't it a free kick? Things happen so fast and it used to rely on what the referee saw for him to come to a judgement, but now they have this technology called VAR where the ref can look at the footage in slow motion to see what actually happened. With a lot of these things it just depends on whether the player was going for the ball or intending to go for another player to deliberately trip or injure him. It's hard to judge sometimes because things can happen by accident.
'Hand ball' is another of those grey areas. Most of the time it's a foul. If it happens in the penalty box by a defender, it's a penalty to the attacking team.
In American football, players wear a lot of protective gear so perhaps such things matter less because they don't affect the players as much, but I know nothing about American football so you have an advantage on me there.
This is the wrong thread for discussing this I know. There's a sports thread for it so I'll say no more here.

My mistake for assuming The Hollies were well known in America. Graham Nash certainly is.

Garpo? I meant Carpo!! Although, Garfish could probably be called Garpo if you use a bit of poetic licence. This entire thread is poetic licence, come to think of it!
