Interesting Questions, Facts, and Information
Final Fantasy VIII
Holy water. Come on! It's in the manual! Luckily, Curse isn't that common anyway - watch out for the Maelstrom attack inflicted by Edea and Ultimecia, which will set you back a Curse status change! The Treatment ability can fix you up easily though, as well as Holy Water....
Which other GF besides Odin can you acquire in the Centra Ruins' tower? | Final Fantasy 8
|
Tonberry . Odin was such a ripoff - he only came when I DIDN'T need him! Tonberry's cool though, I love that doink attack. For those who don't already know, bump off 20 tonberries in the lower section of the tower for Tonberry King to appear! Apparently, you can safely leave the tower, save and return with your Tonberry tally intact, so that makes life easier at least, hey?
Which monster will inflict every single annoying status changing effect on your party in a single attack? | Final Fantasy 8
|
Marlboro . I have to say, FF7's Malboro was definitely more annoying so maybe there's something to be thankful about....? *Yeah right* Easiest way to deal with these babies? Degenerate them to the darkest hells! :D Find them most commonly on the Island Closest to Hell or even the Island Closest to Heaven; alternately seek them out in the Grandidi forest and occasionally you might meet one in the desert of Esthar!
Which GF will be acquired complete with the 'Devour' ability all ready and learnt? | Final Fantasy 8
|
Eden. Eden ROCKS! And that Devour is pretty damn funny.... eat HEARTILLY for added status points! Um, yes, that was a pun. XD Draw Eden from Ultima Weapon in the Deep Sea Research Centre, or you could always draw Eden from Tiamat in Ultemecia's castle on disc four.
Tear's point. Finding the ring was easy. Getting it to work though was something incredibly annoying! I've explained what you have to do in an answer further down....
Deep Sea Research Centre . This place was aggravating. I couldn't even walk a couple of metres without bumping into a Ruby Dragon! (This was before I read a walkthrough... -_-) You might like to use the opportunity to gather 100 curse spikes on the level where the first save point is from the Tri-Heads to refine into Dark Matter for Quistis' Solar Pulsar - it will take a damn long time, but it's worth it! Also try getting Curse Spikes from Creeps (rare) and Marlboros, if you're feeling brave.
A. To maintain this ranking, you could try living life on the edge in battle ie. Everyone, or at least two out of three in your party constantly in the yellow HP range. To make sure battles end quickly before your party gets into big messes, try the limit break trick of pressing the O button repeatedly in order to ensure limit breaks for your characters every time. That's one way of raising/keeping your rank, but it can get risky at times. DON'T try this trick in the Deep Sea Research Centre up against Ruby Dragons! I found out the hard way of course. Alternately, make sure you carry out your SeeD duties dutifully - in other words, complete your missions to the best of your ability, don't run in the garden (a very hard ask, I know!), don't practice magic in the garden (ignore the guy who asks you to demonstrate a spell or you'll get a very embarrassing telling off!) and try not to run from battles!
Using Eden's 'GF ability RF' ability, what is the name of the interesting ability that you can refine from 100 cactus thorns? | Final Fantasy 8
|
Return Damage . I love this ability! And it isn't too hard to get either! Joy! Alternately, Cactus Thorns will give you Demolition ammo.... 30, if I recall correctly... if you're having trouble dealing with Cactuars, try to have Irvine and Quistis in your party: Irvine's Shotgun is perfect for dealing with multiple Cactuars, Quistis' Gatling Gun is quite effective. If Selphie has the Strange Vision, you might consider her too since she's the only other character besides Squall with a weapon with a 255% hit rate. Speed is of essence, so Triples on Speed, initiatives or auto-hastes would do very well here! I'd also recommend sneaking into the Kashkabald desert on disc 2 after the Garden's gone mobile to learn abilities quick smart.... trust me, there's a gap in the rocks! ;)
6. For those of you who don't already know, you also need 6 Marlboro tentacles and 6 Steel pipes - you need Alexander's Medicine Level Up ability to get those pluses. Then you can use the Solomon ring at last! :D Doomtrain is particularly useful when facing off with Ruby Dragons since he'll put them right to sleep.... ;)
Gives you a 4X-ability. You can try and scab some Rosetta stones from the stores which are never open in Esthar - you might be lucky and get one as a gift! (Suckers, we didn't even buy anything!)*snickers* There is also one in Ultemecia's castle, but explaining how to get to it here would take too long. Check a guide, if you're having troubles!
Phoenix Pinion. Once, Phoenix appeared for my sister five times in a row, one after the other - sweet birdie! :D If you don't want to waste time refining for the Pinion, just do the Shumi Village sidequest, it's a nice place to visit for a holiday anyway!
Siren. It was hell getting this card - I just CANNOT manipulate the Plus rule to save my life! (In case anyone's wondering, the bloke I'm referring to is the guy on the second level of the Timber pub who asks you "Wanna start?")You can only get the Siren card after you've beaten the guy and he's let you into his private room! Check out his magazines while you're at it, it's a free read afterall! ^_~ Anyway, I hope you've found this quiz useful, and thanks for playing! :D
How may hit points does Quezacotl have at level 80 without any HP enhancements? | Final Fantasy 8
|
Corona. This reduces everyone to 1 HP.
Siren. At the top of Dollet's tower,of course.
PuPu . There is a long quest for this little card...
Which item can you refine from an Elastoid using the ability Card Mod? | Final Fantasy 8
|
Steel Pipe . In my opinion, the better way to make Steel pipes, which are needed to obtain GF Doomtrain.
6. You can find the Hexadragon monster in the large forests north of Esthar City. (Somewhere else maybe?) Using the 'scan' magic on them reveals that they have six eyes.
Of all the techniques Zell can use in his Limit Break, which one can he learn by reading the Combat King 003? | Final Fantasy 8
|
Meteor Barret . A good technique.
When you play over 100 hours, the counter of playtime changes color. Which color does it become? | Final Fantasy 8
|
Red . Personnally, my game is now 132 hours but it's written 32:26 in red which means 132:26.
Kashkabald Desert. Using one of the doors on the side of Ultimecia Castle leads in the forest north of Esthar. Go to the Chocobo Forest and travel all the way south. The Ragnarok is in the desert. (Spoiler?)
Where can you find a lot of Elnoyles bosses that you can fight over and over again? | Final Fantasy 8
|
Esthar. An easy way to get Energy Crystals, by fighting them, using the 'mug' ability.
a spaceship. More than once it is mentionned that the Ragnarok is a spaceship.
Timber Maniacs. After picking up and reading various issues of Timber Maniacs, you can go back to the classroom in the Garden and view Selphie's webpage which is dedicated to Laguna and his journies.
What is the name of the person who becomes a SeeD along with Zell, Selphie, and Squall? | Final Fantasy VIII
|
Nida. Nida ends up becoming the pilot for Balamb Garden after the Fishermen's Horizon's mechanics teach him how to move it.
When obtaining Bahamut, how many Ruby Dragons are you REQUIRED to fight? | Final Fantasy VIII
|
2. Bahamut will ask you several questions and after each you have to fight a Ruby Dragon. If you answer correctly on both, you only have to fight 2 and then Bahamut himself. If you ask me, they're even harder than the king of dragons himself.
